WWOOF in Italy

WWOOF Italia is the national organization helping to create local WWOOFing opportunities in Italy and to promote sustainable farming as a lifestyle.

Visitors, or 'WWOOFers', share in daily life with their host and learn about organic agriculture, while spending about half of each day helping out on a farm.

We enjoyed our stay very much and felt good the whole time we were there. Everyone of the community is very kind, welcoming and open for new people. The tasks varied which we enjoyed and we could always do them freely since there was trust in us. That is of special importance. We could always ask our questions and found help when we needed something, especially in Cristina. The fresh vegetables from the garden are wonderful to eat at an always diverse dinner table. So the kindness that people treat each other with, the trust we felt, the freedom in doing the task, the experience of community and beautiful environment made it a very precious holiday for us. Thank you again!

My time at Aia Santa was an incredible first WWOOFing experience, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better place to begin this journey. I came hoping to learn about farming and life on the land, and I certainly did, but what I’ll take with me most are the people. Every person I met brought a unique perspective, shared their knowledge generously, and inspired me in different ways. The conversations around the dinner table, the sense of community, and the openness of everyone there made this experience so much more than just volunteering on a farm. Working with the animals, gardens, and surrounding nature taught me so much about regenerative living, patience, and the rhythms of daily life. It was challenging at times, but incredibly rewarding, and I leave feeling like I’ve grown both personally and professionally. If you’re looking for a place where you’ll learn, connect with amazing people from all over the world, and experience a genuine sense of community, I highly recommend staying at Aia Santa. It has been a truly unforgettable experience, and I’ll always be grateful for everything I learned there.

It was my first experience traveling with my son as a Wwoofer to Italy . It was an absolutely unique and lovely experience with Giulia and her family at their farm. We joined them while Giulia was leading a children’s camp filled with creative activities that helped the kids develop a deeper connection with nature. We met the farm animals (donkeys, goats, sheep, geese, and chickens), visited beautiful nearby towns with Giulia, and met her neighbors, who introduced us to their lavender fields and the natural cosmetic products they make from the lavender. About the accommodation: We stayed in a very cozy caravan that Giulia and her husband had thoughtfully renovated and made comfortable for guests. Giulia was extremely helpful with everything we needed throughout our stay. We also shared dinner with her family on several occasions, creating many lovely moments together. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to learn more about ecosystems on countryside and lifestyle there .

This was my first WWOOF experience, and staying at Canigea made me reflect on how little awareness we have, as a society, about so many important things. Living with the Canigea team made this experience in a world that was completely new to me both enjoyable and truly meaningful. Thank you all. It’s easy to see that when people put their passion into what they do, it shows in the result. Canigea is a beautiful, authentic project, full of life. Thank you so much!

Paola and Lucio are very friendly and hard working people. There is a very well organized agricultural field and I joined them with weeding, harvesting flowers/herbs and preparing products for drying. The surroundings in this place are beautiful and I loved to experience of the peace and quiet around it. The host will invest in you to feel home during the stay and you will definitely have a nice time with them. They can be proud of the company.

I had a great time working on Giovanni's Olive farm, it felt like being at a close relative's house. Giovanni made some delicious food and took us around nearby towns when we had free time. We had some great conversations, played music and played with Giovanni's dog, Lula. Thank you, Giovanni!! :)

Giovanni’s place was amazing! He is a very welcoming, friendly, funny host. Mainly, our job was maintaining his farm such as trimming trees, removing animal fences, collecting branches to prevent wild fire. His instructions were clear and we enjoyed all our jobs there. We highly recommend to work for him!

From the moment I arrived, Jane and Biagio made me feel completely at home. They are two of the warmest, kindest, and most generous people I've ever met. They are also incredibly hardworking, alongside running the farm, they both work full-time. Their hospitality was truly exceptional. They even hosted a pizza party for a large group and happily welcomed five extra people they had never met before. That generosity and openness say everything about the kind of people they are. It was such a special experience helping with the lavender and honey harvests. Learning about the farm and taking part in the daily work made this an unforgettable week. Biagio is an amazing cook, and every meal was delicious. Jane's sourdough bread and homemade treats were equally wonderful, and I looked forward to every meal. They also went out of their way to make our stay extra special by driving us to the beach several times and treating us to gelato, dinners, and drinks. Their kindness and generosity went far beyond anything I expected. It was also a pleasure to meet their friends, who were just as welcoming and friendly, creating such a lovely sense of community. And of course, Dumbo, their adorable dog, made the experience even better, I loved taking her for walks and spending time with her. This was a week filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable memories. I'm so grateful for the experience and hope to return one day. Thank you, Jane and Biagio, for everything. I couldn't recom...
