I had a wonderful time spending a week with the Mazzaretto family (and their adorable animals). Every day, Paola cooked delicious meals, so I always looked forward to eating. The homemade pizza and lasagna, especially made from scratch, were absolutely amazing. The farm work wasn’t too demandingい, and even on busy days it was around five hours. They also took me to nearby cities like Pavia and Milan, and I even had the chance to try making lasagna. I was able to experience so many things. It truly became one of the most memorable weeks of my study abroad experience. Thank you so much, Mazzaretto family.

This farm was absolutely fantastic!! Such an incredible time! Riccardo is the most gracious and accomodating host ever. He truly makes you feel welcome and will help with anything. It felt like a home away from home🫶. The whole farm and community is such a kind and hospitable environment. The local volunteers are all so friendly and pleasant to work with and be around! I could not recommend this place enough!! The city is incredibly beautiful and you'll have plenty of time to walk around and explore. The convent and accomodations are so large, private rooms, and truly a beautiful space. We all took turns cooking and it was a lovely experience! Overall, 11/10 experience! If I'm ever in Italy again I'll definitely be back!!

Hi 👋, Cassina Enco is a charming property in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful mountains and outstanding overlooks. It stretches for 50 acres and it’s massive to take care of. Cristina and her 2 sons are very gentle and welcoming people, it was a pleasure to get to know them and spend time with. She’s a great cooker and homekeeper as well. I’m about 1h away from the property and will definitely get back as soon as possible. I highly recommend woofers to visit the property and enjoy the atmosphere. See you soon Cristina!

I had the most amazing week staying with Hans and Corrine. They welcomed me so warmly welcomed into their lives. This was my first WWOOF experience and I think they have ruined me for all others!! We started at 8am with breakfast overlooking the valley. Hans was very clear on the list of projects he wanted us to try and tackle each day, which was great. We would have lunch together with Corrine in the same spot - shout out to the leftover soup - with bread, cheeses and meat and then usually finish for the day or have one more task to complete. Hans is great to work with, very clear and encourages you to do things you might not think you can! My tasks included cracking walnuts, weeding, planting potatoes, fertilising trees, cutting up logs etc, but changes depending on the season. Accommodation was brilliant - private and very comfortable. The location is beautiful, with a very steep but short drive (or e-bike cycle) into the local village. Hans and Corrine were so keen that I make the most of my time in the area and gave up their time to take me on walks through the surrounding villages, hazelnut tasting, wine tastings and lots of lovely social occasions with their many local friends. I think they are quite unique people, social and friendly, clear and direct, and with a wonderful wish to share what they have learned and the way of life they so clearly love with others. Do not hesitate to request your stay!

It was my first WWOOFing experience, and I’m so happy I chose this farm. I worked from morning until noon. The room I stayed in was like a hotel room, and the location of the house is also close to many places you can explore in the afternoons. Even though I had no experience, David patiently taught me everything, and he’s also an amazing cook. He was kind enough to pick us up by car as well. So for my first time, I truly came to a wonderful place—I definitely recommend it to you too. See you next year, David…

Netum Bio is a wonderful place where Valeria and her team translate scientific knowledge and know-how into practical, progressive, feasible, and also hopeful agriculture. Valeria not only possesses phenomenal all-round knowledge (she really knows everything about everything), but she is also willing to share it and inspire everyone who comes to Netum Bio. Within the team of WWOOFers and other guests at Netum, Valeria—despite her young age—ensures that everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. Her determined enthusiasm and friendliness are fantastic. This is the place where I would send my daughter with total peace of mind. The work is also fair and varied (we worked in the morning), and in the afternoon you are free and get the chance to explore Ragusa. I absolutely enjoyed my time at Netum and would like to sincerely thank Valeria, Simone, and Giuseppe for their hospitality and selfless kindness. I am taking a piece of Netum philosophy with me and certainly hope to be able to return. Thank you!

I spent a magical week with Enrico shadowing him foraging wild plants, sorting seeds, de-husking ancient farro, and sowing seeds. One day he took me to a wild chestnut forest where i watched him graft a more robust variety onto the branches of the sick wild ones. It was like watching a surgeon. He and Nadia welcomed me into their lives so warmly and easily. I appreciated that they were so patient with my broken Italian which I’m sure at times was annoying but they were very supportive. The simple food was delicious and felt so nourishing. Could not have been simpler but was tastier than any fancy restaurant food.I will remember the simple, righteous graceful way they exist in the world. Their care and sense of purpose will inspire me forever.

The 10 days that we have spent with Cristian and his family were way beyond our expectations. Not only have we learnt a lot on the daily work of a farmer, but we also had the chance to be included in Cristian and the family’s personal activities from diners all together with Cristian, Chiara their three children and grand parents, to larger gatherings for Pasqua, the choir of the church, and karaoke at the local bar ! They shared and explained local culture and traditions and were patient with our not always understandable italian. Cristian’s farm was particularly interesting to discover : he is passionate about his cows and farming in general, and knows how to share this with wwoofers (added to that he doesn’t know how to start a sentence without making a joke with made even the early morning mungitura fun). This was our first wwoofing experience and we couldn’t have wished for a more interesting and fun one.

Being wwofers at Podere Sole was absolutely incredible experience. Cecilia, Joe and Sabrina are the best family ever!!! They are funny, intelligent and have a huge heart, and we had a wonderful time with them. Every moment in their little beautiful farm was inspiring and interesting and we learned a lot. The views from the farm are just beautiful, and the sunset that we saw every day from our room was unbelievable. The vegan food was delicious and special. The work was mainly in the vineyard, and we also helped Joe building the fence for keeping the grapes safe from the wild animals. In the weekends we explored the surrounding of Tuscany, and the family was generous and helped us with everything we needed. We just left the farm few days ago and we already miss the family, the dogs and the farm, and we will definitely can’t wait to come back again!

Grazie mille Marco :)
