We had a really nice stay with Nicolo. He made us feel welcome and shared his daily life with us in a very open and relaxed way. During our stay, we also met his mother Roserita, who was very kind, and spent time with his 8 year old son Mario, who is sweet and fun to be around. We also helped some of his friends, who were all very friendly, and it created a nice, community-like atmosphere. The work was varied, with different tasks almost every day depending on the weather and what was needed, which made the experience interesting and allowed us to learn new things. There were sometimes small communication challenges since we don’t speak Italian, but overall we managed and it didn’t affect the experience much. Overall, it was an enjoyable and positive stay, and we’re glad we had the opportunity to be there.

I just spend a week at Casa della Erbe „Natura e Spirito“ and it was amazing. Paola welcomed me with so much hospitality and being at this beautiful place gave me a lot of peace. To be with all the animals was a lot of fun and I enjoyed being part of the caregiver for them. We took care of the olive trees which I enjoyed as well. Thank you so much for making this week possible!

I had an incredibly wonderful time at this farm ! It was my first WWOOF experience ever! I really wanted to do WWOOF to gain more awareness about the processes behind food products. At this farm, I was able to gain a lot of experience in this area. I found milking cows and sheep to be a very fun and educational activity. I also helped with cheesemaking which i found super interesting. The farm has an impressive cheesemaking facility! We made mozarella, Ricotta, goat cheeses, Blue cheeses and cheeses that had a mix of different milks. Really cool processes!I also helped processing pork and beef, which i also really liked (especially working together with Augustine to improve my italian :) ). On Sundays, a group of people came to taste cheese, and I assisted with serving, cooking, cleaning and organizing. I actually found the working hours super relaxed; I often did my own thing in the afternoon. I would then go to the cozy little bar in beautiful but super small town or read a book in the sun! It was really motivated to improve my Italian. I made huge progress in vocabulary in the two weeks i spend at Fontegranne , simply by doing, asking a lot of questions, and sometimes looking something up. Eros himself speaks good English, and so does his daughter Elena! But the other people on the farm actually don't. I received an incredibly warm welcome from the family and truly felt like part of the family for two weeks. Irma, Eros, and Elena are super sweet and helpful pe...

I loved staying at Netum. We where a lot of people staying at the same time but Valeria made sure there was a spot for everyone. We spend the sunny days preparing the soil for the veggies seedling and taking out weeds from the avocado field. Valeria was always doing her best to acomodate everyone and make sure that everyone is happy. She brought me to the station and back from Catania with my bike. We went hiking and visiting the nearest cities with the other wwoofers and Giuseppe, Valeria's employee and friend. I really enjoyed my time there and loved to cook for such a big team. I am really happy to know that I will be back there in a few weeks !

My partner and I spent a little less than three weeks at Valeria's Netum farm and we could not have hoped for a better place to start our Wwoofing experience in Italy. Prior to our arrival, Valeria told us we would be working on preparing the land for the vegetable garden (which mostly meant digging) and it was nice knowing what we were in for. Our schedule was flexible though and we also took part in other activities such as weeding in the avocado field, repairing the irrigation system in the orange fields, trimming vines, preparing seedlings... We really appreciated this diversity of tasks and how we could always talk about which one to carry out depending on our physical state, weather etc. Life at the farm was sweet and peaceful, surrounded by nature, the dogs and lovely people. A huge thanks to Valeria for her generosity, open-mindedness, intelligence and care. You truly are a force a nature and it was a privilege to be part of your project.

Spero a presto! Valeria

It was a wonderful, exciting, and educational week with Sara. I felt right at home from the very beginning. Sara and her charming daughter are open, funny, very hospitable, and simply wonderful and inspiring people. This was my second WWOOFing experience, and I enjoyed every moment. In the fields, shoveling snow, and in the kitchen… and in between, the lovely conversations, the fun games, and the warm laughter. I’ll miss them, and the sweet animals (Libero, Cleo, and Pirata)! I’d love to come back… maybe when it’s a little warmer 😅. I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart ❤️

What a magical place near to Sambuca!! I spend roughly 2 weeks at Mamaterra and can highly recommend the farm for everyone who is interested in the real Sicilian farm life. Marcella and Mauro are wonderful, open minded people, who are willing to teach you everything about their passion with the grain and work with the kids and also a lot about Sicilian history. Work in March meant preparing for the season and we mainly build a fence for the horses. I will never forget to see them free again. I had a great time, grazie mille!!

Riccardo and his father Pier Giorgio were both very welcoming and friendly making me feel at home straight away. The work was all very manageable and stress free, with the animals being super tame and friendly. There were also some beautiful hikes with amazing views around Cogne that I would go on during the afternoon once I had finished everything. Overall, it was a great time and Riccardo was an excellent host who deeply cares about giving his wwoofers an amazing experience while staying with him and would definitely reccommend wwoofing here!
