Destinazione Agrituristica, Fattoria di famiglia, Produzione ortaggi
Palermo
******************************
Our farm is situated in Agro di Monreale (PA) in the Jato hills with the Pomo lake nearby. Reachable by bus from Palermo or train to Partinico station. We mainly cultivate olives, vines and seasonal vegetables. Everything is cultivated organically. The fruit and vegetables are made into jams and preserves on the farm. We also offer rural hospitality. Help needed mainly for harvesting produce but also for all the other phases of cultivation and preparation of produce. The owner of the farm works with WWOOFers or, occasionally, one of the workers works with you. Jobs are flexible and can be for only a few hours or all day depending on what needs to be done. There are two comfortable double rooms and a room for 4 available, with bathroom, which are also used for the guests. The rooms are in the main house and all meals are eaten together with the owners. Interesting nearby sites included the Monte Jato archaeological park, the sea and the cities of Palermo, Monreale and Trapani. There are also many interesting walks, bird watching, riding etc. We hope to share our love for nature, the earth and our organic lifestyle with you.

It was a wonderful stay with Carlo, Cettina and Elio and a couple other WWOOFers during the olive harvest (Oct/Nov). The work is physical and satisfying, but you’re always welcome to rest or change tasks which was really great. The views are incredible. Accommodation was simple and comfortable. Meals are satisfying, with lots of seasonal produce and it’s nice working and eating all together. I’m glad I had a cheap rental car to see some of the local sites. Hope to come back in the future :)

My emotions for this farm are a bit mixed. The hosts are very kind people and the farm is located quite remote in the most beautiful place, but the accommodation was not what I expected and the work was a bit too heavy and monotonous. The room was a 5 minute walk from the main house and it was very dirty when I came, especially the toilet. I didn't feel very welcomed. I shared it with 2 other wwoofers, a girl and a boy. The space was too small for 3 people and did not feel like room that was supposed to be lived in, more like a storage room. I I tried to communicate this to the hosts without any success. During free time, the only place for us to hang out in indoors was our shared room.
Since I was there during the olive harvest, this was the main activity. It's quite heavy and monotonous work, but we did not work more than 5 hours per day.
I was supposed to stay there for approximately 2 weeks but I ended up leaving after 3 days. For me, this wasn't the right place.

Carlo is a lovely host, he is kind and patient. The farm looks over the most beautiful panoramic views, it was such a nice outdoor environment to work in. It’s
quite isolated here, so a great chance to slow down and be in nature. Although, Carlo also took us into town so that we could explore. We harvested the olives, which is hard work, but very rewarding.
The accommodation for volunteers is a shared room (three beds), a short walk away from the main house.
The food was 10/10! Gracie Mille Carlo, and to your lovely family.

Carlo and his family were very warm and welcoming! The work was the right combination of challenging yet manageable. We did a lot of typical farm hand tasks- repairs, land care, weeding, etc. The accommodations were modest, safe and comfortable with towels and linens provided, and the food was delicious- lots of fresh produce from the property as well. I would recommend this experience to everyone!

Carlo and Cettina have made my first wooffing experience and unforgettable one! Thank you so much for sharing so much of your knowledge, culture, history, kindness and lifestyle with me! I came into this with an open mind and left with a head full of memories and a very happy stomach. Thank you so much for showing me a bit of what true Sicilian hospitality looks like. I absolutely cannot wait to be back <3

I had an amazing time on the Farm! Purtroppo i only spent a week over there but the next time i will for sure stay longer. You are arouned by a stunning landscape and every day your morning walk passes the olive garden. Next to the work outdoor, which i really loved to do, the family is so open and heartwarming and we had so many good talks and time during the time. and of course the daily dishes (typical italian), fresh made, are as well always worth to go back! thanks a lot for the time, i really really enjoyed it.
