Tomaso e Kathleen (e a volte i figli ormai adulti) vivono da 50 anni su quasi 5 ettari di terreno ai piedi di Monte Liuru a 7 km dal mare. Hanno asini, cani e gatti; un orto e varie alberi di frutta. Fanno un misto di orto sinergico e tradizionale. Però con l'avanzare dell'età riescono fare sempre meno. Tomaso ha 84 anni e sebbene sia in forma per la sua età ha problemi di memoria. Kathleen ha 70 anni, la memoria funziona bene, ma dall'estate scorsa soffre di infiammazioni in varie parti del corpo, forse artrosi, quindi ha dolori e movimenti limitati. Ne consegue che avrebbero piu che mai la necessità di aiuto da parte di volontari. Tomaso vendeva artigianato in estate e Kathleen insegnava inglese in inverno ma non fanno piu queste attività. Sono ancora interessati in meditazione. Kathleen conosce la riflessologia e ha iniziato il Reiki. Le loro abitazione sono costruiti con materiali di ricupero o del luogo. L'energia è fornito da un impianto fotovoltaico. Sono vegetariani da sempre e offrono pasti vegetariani ma possono accomodare chi ha necessità di mangiare diversamente. Non fumano ne bevono alcol. Cercano collaborazione, dialogo e incontro con diverse culture e generazioni. Le attività da seguire sono molteplici: semina, cura e raccolto dell'orto e frutteto, cura degli animali, manutenzione delle abitazioni, raccolto delle erbe autoctone, pulizia anti-incendio, a volte la panificazione. Hanno anche due progetti, non ancora iniziati: la creazione di un piccolo museo che documenta la storia del movimento cosiddetto 'hippy' in Sardegna e un Parco d'Arte. Il periodo di maggior bisogno di aiuto è aprile e maggio. Possono ospitare 1 o 2 persone alla volta. Hanno una grande carovan dove ospitare i wwoofer. I pasti sono insieme alla famiglia. Si parla inglese (madre lingua), italiano, sardo e un po di francese. Sono stati host wwoofer per 13 anni e prima ancora che esistesse wwoofing, praticavano qualcosa di molto simile senza un organizazzione dietro. Tomaso and Kathleen (with at times, their grown up children) have lived for 50 years on nearly 5 ha of land at the foot of Mount Liuru, 7 km from the sea. They have donkeys, dogs and cats, a vegetable garden and various fruit trees. They practise a combination of synergic and traditional gardening. However, due to advancing age they are able to do less and less. Tomaso is 84, in great shape for his age but with memory problems. Kathleen is 70, memory so far functional, but since last summer she has been suffering from inflamations in various parte of her body, maybe arthritis. They give her pain and limit her movements. So they are ever more in need of help from volunteers. In summer Tomaso used to sell crafts and Kathleen used to teach English in the winter but they no longer carry out these activies. They are still interested in meditation. Kathleen has studied reflexology and has first level Reiki. Their buildings are built with material which is recycled and/or local. Energy is supplied by a photo-voltaic system. They are vegetarian and offer vegetariani meals but can accomodate people with diverse diets. They do not smoke or drink alcohol. They are looking for collaboration, dialogue and meeting with different cultures and generations. The activities to be followed are manifold: planting, caring for and harvesting in the vegetable garden and orchard, animal care, maintenance of the buildings, harvesting herbs, and occasional bread-making. They are also planning to create a small museum which tells the story of the so called 'hippy' movement in Sardinia and an Art Park. The period when they need the most help is in April and May. They can accommodate 1 or 2 people. Wwoofers' accommodation is in a large caravan. Meals are with the family. Languages spoken: Italian, Sardinian, English and a little French. They have been wwoofing hosts for 13 years and before wwoofing existed, practised something very similar but without an organization.
