Orto commerciale, Azienda agricola, Produzione ortaggi
Bolzano
Parliamo tedesco, italiano e inglese.

Our farm is located on the plateau of Favogna (1,020 m asl), a part of the town of Magrè, which includes several farms and 2 hotels. The town centre is 10 kms and we go in almost every day. We are a couple of 45 and 47 (with 2 children, 5 and 2) and since 2008 have cultivated (using biodynamic methods) a diverse variety of vegetables. The area cultivated with vegetables is approx. 1,5 ha. We pay particular attention to the cultivation of varieties reproduced from seed, promoting plant growth through a well-planned mixed culture, activating the life of the soil with a good management of the compost and avoiding soil compaction (we work a good part of our land with with our donkeys). Whoever comes here will be helping in vegetable garden, harvesting strawberries, caring for the donkeys, selling at the market and other tasks. We can host people from May to late October, accommodation in caravan, with bathroom and hot shower in the nearby house, max. 2 person. We would like to accommodate WWOOFers as an opportunity to exchange experiences, culture and work for a minimum period of 14 days. During your stay, you will have the opportunity to go hiking in mountains, swim in the beautiful lake Favogna which is 5 min walk from the farm, to accompany us to the market and so on. The food is organic and mostly vegetarian . We speak German, Italian and English.

I had a beautiful week in this breathtaking mountain landscape. The tasks were very interesting like driving the donkey for preparing the field or do the seeding in the greenhouse in the valley. The next city is like 800 m difference in altitude so you gonna get your head free there definitely ;) The family is very nice and open and willing to share there experience and knowledge. If your are willing to work and learn I can totally recommend to come here.

Ci ho trascorso una settimana e mezza. Alexandra and Peter sono persone simpatiche.

Alexandra and Peter are lovely people and welcoming hosts! They're young son is very energetic and cute, and the farm is a beautiful piece of land in the mountains. My WWOOFing experience was mixed, but I think for most people it would be very good here. It was unseasonably cold and rainy when I came, so sleeping in the (unheated) RV was a little bit difficult for me. Additionally, there son was sick and I ended up doing a lot of childcare (probably because there was less farm work with the rain), which was challenging because I did not speak the same language as him and he was sick, which resulted in me getting sick. For personal reasons, I left early, and I ended up with pneumonia upon my arrival home, which I most likely contracted from their son and the cold sleeping conditions. However, I think this was all very unlucky; this is a beautiful region of the world and your hosts would be a beautiful and interesting family! It is notable that there is not any way to get to any towns nearby and also that if you do not speak german, you will not understand most conversations that occur. If you do speak german, there are lots of lovely visitors passing by the farm!
