Sono Gianna e con Miriam, mia figlia, vivo in Zenson di Piave, all'interno della golena del fiume Piave. Attorno alla nostra casa si estende il nostro orto di 2500 metri quadrati nel quale, in maniera completamente naturale, biologica e rispettando i cicli naturali, coltiviamo ortaggi che consumiamo e vendiamo nel mercato del paese. Conosco le erbe spontanee commestibili e non, le loro proprietà e come usarle in cucina per preparare degli ottimi piatti. Trasmetto le mie conoscenze agli ospiti e tengo dei corsi,in cui insegno a riconoscere ed usare le varie erbe. Allevo conigli e galline. L'orto è attrezzato di irrigazione con sistema gocciolante e reti antigrandine. Gli ospiti avranno a disposizione camere comode e ben arredate. L'abitazione è a 5 minuti dal centro del paese, immersa nella pace e nel silenzio, un ottimo luogo per rigenerare lo spirito. ******************************
I am Gianna and with Miriam, my daughter, I live in Zenson di Piave, inside the Piave river floodplain. Around our house extends our vegetable gardenof 2500 m2 in which, in a completely natural, organic way and respecting the natural cycles, we grow vegetables that we consume and sell in the village market. I know the spontaneous edible and not edible herbs, their properties and how to use them in the kitchen to prepare excellent dishes. I pass on my knowledge to the guests and I hold courses in which I teach how to recognize and use the various herbs. I breed rabbits and chickens. The garden is equipped with irrigation with drip system and anti-hail nets. Guests will have at their disposal comfortable and well furnished rooms. The house is 5 minutes from the centre of the village, immersed in peace and silence, an excellent place to regenerate the spirit.

Ein toller Start ins Wwoofen!
Gianna war sehr gastfreundlich, umsichtig und hat immer alles gut und geduldig erklärt.
Die Arbeit im Garten war sehr abwechslungsreich und nie zu anstrengend - es hat uns viel Spaß gemacht.
Ganz toll (und lecker!) fanden wir auch das gemeinsame Kochen.
Das Wissen, das Gianna über Kräuter und Gartenbewirtschaftung weiter gegeben hat, ist ein echter Wissensschatz.
Auch sehr ans Herz gewachsen ist uns der Hund Cucciolo, der sehr verkuschelt ist.
Die Unterbringung in einem Zweierzimmer mit eigenem Bad lässt einem viel Privatsphäre. Wir hatten jeden Tag eine sehr lange Mittagspause und einen freien Tag in der Woche.
Liebe Gianna, wir danken dir für 4 unvergessliche Wochen, für unsere schönen Gespräche und geteiltes Wissen - wir kommen gerne wieder!

Gianna era molto accogliente, avveduta e spiegava tutto bene e con pazienza.
Il lavoro nell' orto era molto variato e mai troppo faticoso - ci piace tanto. Cucinare (e mangiare) insieme era fantastico (e molto gustoso!).
La sapienza di Gianna sulle erbe e piante e sull' orto che ci dava è un tesoro.
Anche ci siamo affezionate al suo cane Cucciolo che era molto coccolone.
L'allogiamento in una camera per due con un bagno privato si lascia la privacy.
Cara Gianna, ti ringraziamo tanto per quattro belle settimane indimenticabile, per le chiacchierate interessanti e la tua sapienza condivisa. Saremmo felici di ritornare!

My goodness, what a truly beautiful experience I had at Gianna’s house. This was my very first WWOOFing adventure, and I honestly could not have imagined a better one. Gianna and her son welcomed me with such kindness, making me feel safe, cared for, and completely at home. Gianna is an intelligent, curious, patient, and deeply thoughtful person, full of warmth and love. Her passion for her garden was inspiring and she made me want to learn more about everything, from herbs to her delicious cooking. There was always something interesting to do such as weeding, raking, harvesting herbs and taking care of the animals. Beyond the work, we shared so many joyful moments, cooking together, laughing, visiting the town, and playing with her sweet dog, who was always ready for cuddles.
Gianna was always patient with her Italian, speaking slowly and ensuring we understood. Even with some language barriers, we could follow instructions, share jokes, and enjoy her wonderful stories. Spending time with her and the other WWOOFers was truly special, an experience I will never forget. Thank you, Gianna, for being the most wonderful host. I hope to see you again soon. Tanti baci!

I stayed at Casa di Gianna for just over a week, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. From the very first moment I felt incredibly good and warmly welcomed.
It was a special experience getting to know Gianna, learning from her about organic farming and herbs, harvesting together, and tending the garden.
Cooking together was truly the highlight – I miss the good food and the warmth around the table.
Also her son and her grandchild were there, and together we spent such a joyful time. We laughed a lot and had so much fun swimming together.
Alongside me, there was a very kind woman from Holland, and later two wonderful Americans whose acquaintance I was lucky to make. I felt as if I was surrounded by angels – exactly the right people at the right time.
Gianna herself is an extraordinary person from whom I learned so much, not only about farming and cooking, but also about life. I will definitely be back.

I had an absolutely lovely time staying with Gianna. Her sense of humor was fabulous, and I always had fun with her during everything we did, which was mostly weeding, harvesting various plants, tending to the garden, doing various chores away from the home, and cooking! Gianna always made an effort to teach me the Italian way, through daily habits, food, and il dolce far niente! I learned a lot about the local plants and how to prepare meals with them, and was introduced to an amazing way to compost. I would 100% recommend staying with Gianna. I will always cherish the days I spent with her.
Definitely bring clothing suitable to defend against the mosquitoes! They are ruthless near the piave. I was wearing wwoofer lost and found outfits due to my wardrobe shortcomings.

I spent two weeks at Gianna’s and my stay with her was very pleasant. Her house is located right on the edge of the village. We spent a lot of time together, in the mornings and afternoons we worked in the garden, we prepared lunch and dinner together and sometimes we went shopping. I had time to explore the area and even go on trips. Gianna and her son are very kind and helpful people, always accommodating and their dog Cucciolo is a great friend and a real sweetheart. It was a completely new experience for me - my first time volunteering and even though I didn’t speak Italian, it was never a problem to communicate. During my stay I even learned a few Italian words and phrases. If I could do it all over again, I’d do it exactly the same way.

My partner and I had a wonderful 12 day stay with Gianna from the end of May until June 10, 2025. She can house up to three WWOOFers and we enjoyed working with a woman from Tasmania during our stay..
Gianna really appreciates the help of WWOOFers. She is incredibly friendly and wants to share her knowledge with you.
I learned a lot about organic farming, plant nutrition, and even care of chickens. Additionally she taught us how to make Italian and local dishes including herbs from the garden: homemade pasta, tortellini, gnocchi, polenta, risotto, desserts and much more!
Responsibilities change with the stages of the garden. Gianna is always with you making sure you are OK and understand the task at hand. She is a very pleasant, smart, strong woman dedicated to her farm.
Even the extended family are wonderful and treat you like one of the family if you meet them.
I’d like to recommend you pack sturdy shoes, a hat, work gloves, sunscreen and bug spray.
