Fattoria di famiglia autosufficienza e autoconsumo
Treviso

We are Giampietro and Giuliana, we live about 6 km from the center of Treviso. We have one hectare of land, part of which is cultivated as a vegetable garden for domestic use, a fruit orchard with about 50 plants of various quality, a garden, a rose garden and a small forest.
We also have a chicken coop, a dog, a cat and a donkey. We use organic methods for growing vegetables. We have tried over the years to create a small natural oasis since we live in a fairly rural, but also partly urbanized - particularly in recent years -area.
We do enjoy good company and like the idea of sharing our home and land with people who want to learn what we can teach and give us a hand in running our agricultural activity, which although not for commercial purposes, does involve some commitment. We are willing to host wwoofers who are Italian or foreigners with whom we can speak either in English or French, to improve or maintain our language skills and cultural and human exchange.
We provide a room with a double bed in the loft/attic with a separate bathroom on the ground floor. The food is organic and mostly vegetarian. We only accept people who are motivated and respectful of our environment and lifestyle who, with us will take care of this land and share our love for nature. Our experience of more than 5 years as hosts has taught us that in order to live together in a peaceful and pleasant way, it is important to know and respect the daily farm life schedule.
The day (Monday to Saturday) starts with waking up at 6.00 am, breakfast in autonomy, worktending to tasks in the garden and/or vegetable garden, lunche is shared around 1.00 pm, clearing up and household chores, rest in the afternoon , dinner and evening briefing to settle the tasks for the next day, and at 11.00 pm turning off the lights and any electronic devices, including cell phone (to be used however sparingly and possibly only during rest times).
For the self-managed breakfast and dinner we provide produce from the farm. In case of special dietary needs wwoofers will have to provide or purchase what they want. We ask that wwoofers be considerate of saving electricity and hot water by using the washing machine and shower when powered by solar energy. We ask wooffers to bring their own (clean) sleeping bag, sheets and towels.

Killian

Giampietro and Giuliana welcomed me to their farm and their home for two weeks with open arms. I enjoyed learning about their smallholding and was given a variety of tasks, working in the early mornings and evenings to avoid the heat of the day. We ate most meals together with lovely fresh produce from the farm and engaging discussions. Their house is also well located for day excursions, if of interest - I went to Treviso a number of times during the day and even had a day in Venice. Grazie mille per un soggiorno incantevole!

I had a wonderful first experience of wwoofing with Giampetro and Giuliana, I was warmly welcomed into their home and by their friends and beautiful family. We shared meals together where we talked like close friends, as my first experience abroad alone, I couldn’t have asked for nicer people to be with.
I learnt much from Giampetro and Giuliana, I was shown various methods of permaculture, including hoeing, fertilisation, support for growing plants and general care and upkeep of a varied garden space. I also very much enjoyed the company of their donkey zacharia, he is sweet and playful.
The bulk of what we eat, Giuliana makes at home, including yoghurts, muesli, jams and kombucha! As well as being an amazing cook, accommodating whatever produce is available from the the land into her meals, experiencing food at this level is something I wish for everyone.
During the day, Giampetro was always very considerate of my energy levels and the heat and always gave me the option to finish after a few hours. During my time there I also visited the lovely town of Treviso many times and Venice, making this experience a perfect all round trip, I hope I have the opportunity to meet with the Danielis again!

I had a very nice first wwoof experience with Giuliana and Giampietro. Their welcoming was warm from the very first moment and I quickly felt at home. I was able to carry out the tasks in the garden and feed the animals independently relatively quickly and Giampietro made an effort to make the tasks as varied as possible so that I was able to get to know different aspects of the life on the fattoria.
I also learned from Giualiana, not least through her amazing cooked meals with produce from the garden.
GRAZIE for your hospitality, trust and kindness, I really appreciate the time I was able to spend with you and will miss your friendly faces (and the fagiolini).
P.S.: Everyone absolutely loved your salsa di pomodori!

This was my first WWOOFing experience and I couldn't have wished for a better one. Giampietro and Giuliana were very welcoming hosts, I felt like I was visiting friends.
I was working in the garden in the morning and had the rest of the day free. I enjoyed spending time with Danieli's and also with their lovely dog Tosca. I had a chance to visit nearby places and explore Treviso, Venice and Jesolo.
Thank you Giampietro, Giuliana and the whole family for this amazing experience. I hope I will have an opportunity to come back again.
