Siamo una fattoria a conduzione familiare /ristorante / fattoria didattica e siamo una delle aziende di eccellenza in Emilia Romagna per la produzione agricola biologica. Infatti 10 top chef hanno i loro orti qui da noi. Se vuoi partecipare al nostro progetto, per imparare a produrre verdure di alta qualità per il mercato dell'alta ristorazione, vieni da noi!!! Abbiamo agriturismo e ristorante a Bologna. Abbiamo 8 ettari, di cui circa 4 sono destinati ad un orto dove coltiviamo varietà antiche. Siamo passati a una gestione organica completa del terreno, quindi quest'anno avremo bisogno di molto aiuto per tutti i lavori di preparazione, trapianto e raccolta. Stiamo anche sperimentando un'agricoltura biologicamente intensiva e sperimentando agricoltura sinergica. Forniamo diversi ristoranti con i nostri prodotti freschi, consegnando due o tre volte alla settimana a Bologna. Se sei una persona dinamica, hai tanta voglia di imparare, in azienda potrai essere contaminata da altri ragazzi/e che provengono da tutte le parti del mondo.Ti diamo l'opportunità di imparare con i nostri programmi di fattoria didattica tutto ciò che desideri nei nostri progetti di marketing e comunicazione. Affiancando i nostri collaboratori potrai acquisire competenze anche in questi campi. Il nostro obiettivo è che un piccolo pezzo di San Giuliano, vi possa essere trasmesso e seguirvi nella vostra vita professionale e personale, per fare questo, tutto il periodo di permanenza noi saremo a vostra completa disposizione. Condividerai con noi e con i nostri due figli la vita di una famiglia di agricoltori e di ristoratori. Qui da noi potrai capire e imparare come si progetta una produzione agricola in funzione di una cucina che lavora con prodotti di altissima qualità.

Ciao, I'm Federica the owner of the farm. We are a family run farm / restaurant / educational farm and we are one of the leading farms in Emilia Romagna for organic agricultural production. In fact 10 top chefs have their vegetable gardens here. If you want to participate in our project, to learn how to produce high quality vegetables for the 'haute cuisine' market, come to us !!! We have an agritourism and restaurant in Bologna. We have 8 hectares, of which about 4 are intended for a vegetable garden where we grow ancient varieties. We have moved on to complete organic management of the land, so this year we will need a lot of help for all the preparation, transplanting and harvesting. We are also experimenting with biologically intensive agriculture and experimenting with synergistic agriculture. We supply several restaurants with our fresh products, delivering two or three times a week to Bologna. If you are a dynamic person, you have a great desire to learn, on the farm there other young people who come from all over the world. We give you the opportunity to learn everything you need in our marketing and communication projects with our educational farm programs. By supporting our employees you can acquire skills in these fields. Our goal is that a small piece of San Giuliano, can be transmitted to you and follow you in your professional and personal life, to do this, for the entire period of stay we will be at your disposal. You will share with us and with our two children the life of a family of farmers and restaurateurs. Here you can understand and learn how to design an agricultural production according to a kitchen that works with products of the highest quality.

Podere San Giuliano is a wonderful place! The place was very welcoming with a friendly staff. Federica is amazing person running the place. Work is usually outdoors or in the restaurant. I had the pleasure of working with Antonio with tasks such as planting herbs, clearing the area free of leaves or fruit fallen from the trees. He was clear with instructions and gave tasks which fit to our level of experience. In the kitchen, I’ve learned a lot with Francesco and Minna. Both were very knowledgeable and taught a lot of Bolognese cuisine. I helped with prep for the day and run service sometimes. I really enjoyed working with them a lot. Coming from a culinary background, I felt very at home with them and in a kitchen environment. It was a pleasure and privilege to working with entire staff and the environment. I hope to come back and work with them again!

My volunteer experience at Podere San Giuliano was wonderful! The team was super welcoming and fun to work with. I learned so much from them and would do it all over again. Tasks varied from gardening, harvesting, and kitchen help. I highly recommend the place to anyone looking for an enjoyable volunteer opportunity!

I enjoyed my time at Podere San Giuliano a lot. I had so much fun with the team and learned a lot from Francesco in the kitchen.
Federica is a skillful woman and it‘s impressive to see her manage with solid calmness.
My accommodation was comfortable and the food was delicious since prepared by the chef himself.
Since San Giuliano is a busy place the working tasks and hours vary from day to day. An independent way of working and flexibility are required. Open communication and some knowledge of Italian are helpful to be able to work well with the team.

I spent three weeks at Podere. There were all kinds of feelings, but the most powerful of all was the sensation of being on a spiritual retreat. We woke up early yet relaxed, to the singing of the birds. We spent a lot of time in nature, working in the field and learning a lot about italian food. The people working there were so generous, kind, and loving. We went out for dinner with Minna and Antonio, Federica invited us to events, and we shared meals with the whole team like a family. It was truly wonderful and nourishing for my soul. thank you podere :)

The family that owns this estate are genuine and kind. I learned alot here and values the experience of learning how to setup irrigazione sysytem and the family restaurante on the property the meals are professionisti cooked by the staff. I highly reccoment this farm.

Review
I had an amazing three weeks as a wwoofer in this beautiful farm and very much enjoyed working with Federica and her team. I learned a lot about harvesting artichokes, broad beans, chard and onion as well as using a small tractor to mow the grass and prepare the soil for planting. It was a special opportunity to observe how an agro-tourism business operates. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming - I felt very at home. It was a privilege and a pleasure to work alongside such a hardworking team. Thank you all.
