I had a really interesting experience with Ottavio. I enjoyed the work, the weather and the area we were in. The food was fantastic and the accomodation was alright. Unfortunately, I don't know any Italian and while Ottavio spoke enough English to communicate the basics of our work to me, I struggled with feeling isolated because of the language barrier. I wasn't not always able to understand what was going on/where we were going/what we were doing and at times that was uncomfortable for me. We definitely miscommunicated on big things a few times. That is not his, or his families fault, however I thought it would be good to mention for other future wwoofers.

I had a wonderful experience WWOOFing here! I mostly helped out in the vineyard, doing various tasks to prep for the next growing season, and the tasks were varied and not too difficult. This was my first WOOFing experience, and Ottavio, his parents Mario and Tiziana, and his wife Jenny were all so kind and welcoming to me and made me feel comfortable immediately. I learned a lot about the Abruzzo region and about the process of growing grapes for wine. Ottavio and Jenny also took me to nearby cities on a couple of afternoons off and were excellent tour guides. Grazie mille per tutto!!

I spent some nice days with Ottavio! I helped with the olive harvest and Ottavio also took me to the oil mill and I could see the whole process, which I absolutely loved!! Unfortunately I could not speak in italian, it was a pity to not be able to have conversations with the whole family, but nevertheless, everyone was really nice to me. Ottavio, his parents and his wife are lovely people. Everyday I ate good food and Ottavio also taught me how to make fresh pasta - thank you so much! :)

I had a nice stay at this place. The wine and olive harvest are physically hard, but not too hard and also very interesting. The region is extremely beautiful. Also, Ottavio, his parents and his wife were very nice to me.

I spent 1 week at Ottavio's farm. Everyday we went to harvest grapes in the morning and in the afternoon. It was my first experience to harvest grapes and learned a lot of things. One day Ottavio took me to the cooperative where he sell the grapes and explained me how it works, which was very interesting for me. Even though my Italian was not good enough, his family welcomed me very warmly. Every lunch and dinner made by Tiziana was the best. Also I liked that we had a private room and bathroom for WWOOFers. I appreciate the experiences with Ottavio's family. I would like to come back to Abruzzo one day.

My experience with Ottavio and his family was incredible! I worked in the vineyard with them for a few hours in the afternoon and always shared meals together. They were very welcoming and accepted me so kindly, even though we spoke different languages. I recommend this experience to anyone! Thank you Ottavio, Tiziana, and Mario for everything :-)
