I believe in a dream that was real!! WE ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR A CARPENTER TO BUILD A WOODEN HOUSE! Hello! My name is Andrea and i own a farm in Sicily near the village of Mussomeli. The property is 160 hectares of which 80 hectares of forest which was abandoned up to 6 years ago. Also my 8 and 6 year old daughters often but not always live here in the countryside with me. Our projects is to create an eco-sustainable place. A place in Armony with uncontaminated nature. we have fixed up a part of the existing structure, we have a very large biodynamic garden, hives for the production of honey, we have started making jams, producing extracts from medicinal plants of which the place is very rich. There is so much biodiversity. There are 21 donkeys, 10 dogs, 3 cats. And we set up a chicken coop. The activities in progress are: - fix part of the existing buildings - build houses with local materials such as raw clay and materials from the woods - Forest maintenance - Manteinance of olive trees - Planting plants typical of the Mediterranean maquis - Food garden maintenance - Cultivation of vegetables, lavender, lemon balm and other aromas - Production of essential oils, aromas, herbal teas and hydrolates - Preparation of kombucha and fermented vegetables- Production of food preserves IMPORTANT: Please clean the common areas daily with a broom and vacuum cleaner, mop 3 times a week and take care of the laundry! And always keep your room and bathroom clean and tidy. I can offer short-term accommodation to people who help me out 5-6 hours a day. The guest will have a bedroom with private bathroom and the possibility of creating a small kitchenette. Preference for Souls who are committed to the elevation of consciousness, quiet people who love nature and quiet. Thanks 🙏 There are many ways we like to protect and study local wild plants, sometimes using them in cooking or natural remedies. We love cooking very much and cook mainly foods from the garden. The farm is quite isolated. It is 20 minutes by car from the town of Mussomeli and 20 minutes from the village of Villalba, and 1 hour by car from the sea of Agrigento. If you have a valid driving license we can share a car to go to the town of Mussomeli. The roads from the farm to the village are easily accessible by bicycle. Nearby there is the beautiful Agrigento "Valle dei Templi" (1 hour by car), " oriented nature reserve of Mount Cammarata " (1 hour by car), the " integral nature reserve lake sfondato " not bathing ( 1 hour by car), the beautiful beach of " Bovo Marina " and the " oriented nature reserve of Torre Salsa " by the sea ( 1 hour and 30 minutes by car). The nearest train stations are Acquaviva-Casteltermini (40 minutes by car) and Villalba (20 minutes by car) -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- VIVIILSOGNO!

My experience at Andrea's farm explained things to me… Our first meeting took place in Palermo. Initially kind and welcoming, I started to have some apprehensions when he began openly criticizing the other WWOOFers already there. These criticisms turned out to be completely untrue after I met them (kisses to Levi and Sophie!). Once I arrived at the farm, he gave me a quick tour, explaining that he expected me to work from morning until evening. Why not, but it would have been helpful to specify this in his profile. He then showed me the list of rules. I had no problem with that, but it would be good if he respected them as well. Next, he explained that he would be away for four days for work. Upon his return, he stayed for two days before heading back to Palermo. In eleven days, I only ended up spending three days with him. The work he assigned to me and the other volunteers was mainly cleaning. Although I was able to do some wood chopping with Michaele, who is a lovely person, as well as carpentry and gardening with the other volunteers, it's worth noting that almost all the interesting and fulfilling tasks came from our own initiative. If we had only done what Andrea suggested, I would have spent ten days sweeping. Andrea, in the rare moments he was with us, never helped prepare meals, never said thank you, and spent most of our meals on his phone. The end of my stay was rather strange. After a week of work, I took the car early in the morning with the other volunteers

Ambiguous and rude, he thought he would have a holiday by working occasionally and doing as little as possible and badly! I decided to send him away early and he didn't take it well. He is not a reliable person to host in your home!

We have mixed feelings for this place. We experiened many types of farms so far and we can say we are flexible up to a point. Andrea is an interesting guy with nice ongoing projects. Unfortunately his english is very poor mixed with an italian lifestyle which did not fit us really nice at first. We were supposed to stay 4 weeks but ended up leaving the farm a week sooner. Lets start at the beginning. He sent us a list of the house rules a month before our arrival which felt like a red flag itself but we came to the place anyway. On the day of our arrival he did not come to great us nor did he had any interest in our lifes later. He wasnt joking the place is really isolated, even with a car it is a lot of travel to see some sights in the weekends. Close to the farm there is not too much thing to do but fortunately you dont have the time for it in your weekdays either. The 5-6 hours of work mentioned in the description are all day in reality with an obligatory siesta in the middle of the day. We needed some time to get used to this. The positives: The house is clean tidy and cozy no problem with that. The works are really varied and interesting. We enjoyed it a lot even tho he was out most of the time working or some other visits he needed to attend to . We would be happy to learn more about the plants from him. At the end we left the place because he had a party where we absolutely did not feel comfortable in any way and for a reason.

It's rare for me to comment, but this time I have to. What can I say... immature people, lacking in inspiration for life. Empty of learning and judgmental in everything. Beggars for money and commercial food. Poor in understanding nature. This place is not an office, but a sacred place where one can grow consciously. And I am free to celebrate as God commands! With love. Andrea

Energetically powerful place, the support and freedom it has given me i cannot put in words. Beautiful connections as with people so with animals. All i can say is go, explore, climb rocks, dance around the fire, connect, gaze upon the night skies and be free as the wild hawks cruising through the air. 🪶🪶🪶

It has been about a month and it is very difficult not to miss Andrea's farm There was an undeniable excitement amongst those there to help every day. Perhaps all so aware of the love that Andrea puts into this farm and it was contagious. At times three generations gathering olives, dancing while cooking a meal, feeding and admiring the donkeys, picking pomegranates, collecting eucalyptus leaves to make oil, or running from the newly found stray puppy. On my last night at the farm, one of the girls there and I slept under the stars. We turned to say goodnight and witnessed what I guess signified new beginnings, Comet Lemmon, last seen by the human eye 1300 years ago. Life changing. So many generations from all parts of the world brought together here to witness Andrea's dream unfold and become a reality, but in the process, forever changed. I knew we shared the dream, and now we share so many amazing memories Hope to be writing another review next year :) Everyone go visit, share your talents, learn some new ones and be forever changed...
