Antonella is a very sweet and welcoming host. I spend about two weeks at her place and even though I felt a bit lonely at first, I managed to feel better thanks to her and her lovely neighbours. There’s often people passing by, for dinner or lunch and that what very nice moments, especially since Antonella (she prefers people to call her Blu) is a wonderful cook. It is very convenient to go to Lecce with the bus, and the village nearby (5 min) has a café and small grocery shopping. I slept in a caravan, which would normally have been more than ok. But unfortunately, with the rain and bad weather the first week I was there, I was a bit cold at night. The work is well defined and clear and let you enough time to chill or explore the area (you can even have a few day trip in Pugglia thanks to the train in Lecce).
Anyway, in general it is a nice place, and very nice host. I would recommend it for independent people, who are able to enjoy a bit of time on their own. My experience would have been pretty different as well if I spoke Italian. Blu does not speak English or French so we communicated via Google Translate.
Thank you Blu for your patience with me, for learning me a bit of Italian, and being so nice for the time I was there :)

The two weeks I spent on Blue’s farm were lovely. I got to meet her friends, share many wonferful meals with her and her children, and explore much of Apulia following her recommendations. Her home is less than an hour’s walk from the beach, and it is easy to take the bus to Lecce and back in the early evenings. On days off, I took the train to Otranto and had no shortage of options in interesting places to travel to.
Blue was friendly and hardworking, and she expected wwoofers to work hard as well. During a typical workday, Blue assigned tasks in the morning or by WhatsApp and then usually worked on other projects (including cooking delicious meals for her children and wwoofers). I spent a lot of my time working alone or with the other wwoofer I was staying with, sometimes on difficult manual labor. In exchange for my work, I felt like a member of the family during meals, was introduced to her many friends during gatherings, and got to explore the beautiful region of Apulia.
I’m very grateful for my time spent on Blue’s farm and hope to someday comeback!

We spent a great 4 weeks with Antonella!
Antonella is a kind a gracious host and she is very clear with what work she would like to accomplish during the week.
She is also great with organizing days off ahead of time and giving advice on where to go. She also drove us around to visit a few harder to reach spots which we really appreaciated.
Antonella makes you feel like family introducing you to her friends and family it was a great cultural exchange.
We harvested olives for most of the month as it was the time for it and it was great to learn how she a smaller farm does it.
Frigole is a lovely small town with great people, from the farm you are walking distance from the town, the beach and the bus stop to Lecce.
Being a 20 minute bud ride away from Lecce was also very convenient as we could spend afternoons off in the city.
The work days are very fair, independent workers will do very well here Antonella explains what she wants done and shows it but then has other things to take of around the farm or in the laboratorio. Of course, she is available for questions and clarifications but she won’t be behind you double checking your every move.
For us this was a great thing as we were able to really learn our tasks and develop a routine. Wake up, make coffee, feed the hens, have breakfast and start work. It was a nice feeling being trusted that the work assigned to us would be done.
Thank you so much Antonella !
