Ciao, sono Nicolò, ho 39 anni e vivo nella mia azienda agricola in Sicilia, all'interno della Riserva Naturale del Bosco di Santo Pietro, una piccola frazione di Caltagirone (a 60 km da Catania).
Mi occupo di apicoltura biologica, gestisco 300 alveari e produco miele sia nella mia azienda agricola che in tutta la Sicilia, e di agricoltura, producendo ortaggi, frutta e piante aromatiche. Pratico l'agricoltura biologica dal 2006.
Oggi produco anche vino e ho 3.000 viti di varietà tradizionali e storiche.
Produco olio d'oliva dai miei 240 ulivi.
La mia azienda agricola ha una superficie totale di 10 ettari suddivisi in due aree di 4 ettari e 6 ettari, non lontane l'una dall'altra.
Le attività che vorrei condividere con voi sono:
apicoltura - dall'allevamento delle colonie di api alla raccolta del miele. Ho un laboratorio di miele in città.
agricoltura - raccolta della frutta - preparazione di marmellate - raccolta delle olive e potatura, cura delle viti. Vendo i miei prodotti nel mio negozio in città.
Mi piace lavorare la pietra e costruire muri naturali. Mi occupo anche di ingegneria ambientale con un escavatore.
Sto ristrutturando tutto in casale preparando dei mini appartamento per i turisti.

Hi, I'm Nicolò, I'm 39 years old and I live on my farm in Sicily, within the “Bosco di Santo Pietro Nature Reserve,” a small hamlet of Caltagirone (60 km from Catania).
My work is in organic beekeeping, managing my 300 hives and producing honey both on my farm and throughout Sicily, and in agriculture, producing vegetables, fruit, and aromatic plants. I have been farming organically since 2006.
Nowadays, I also produce wine and have 3,000 grapevines of traditional and historic varieties.
I produce olive oil from my 240 olive trees.
My farm has a total of 10 hectares divided into two areas of 4 hectares and 6 hectares, not far from each other.
The activities I would like to share with you are;
beekeeping - from growing bee colonies to harvesting honey. I have a honey workshop in town.
agriculture - fruit picking - jam making - olive picking and pruning, taking care. of the grapevine. I sell my products in my shop in town.
I enjoy working with stone and building natural walls. I also do environmental engineering with an excavator. I'm renovating everything in the farmhouse, preparing mini apartments for tourists.

We had a really nice stay with Nicolo. He made us feel welcome and shared his daily life with us in a very open and relaxed way.
During our stay, we also met his mother Roserita, who was very kind, and spent time with his 8 year old son Mario, who is sweet and fun to be around. We also helped some of his friends, who were all very friendly, and it created a nice, community-like atmosphere.
The work was varied, with different tasks almost every day depending on the weather and what was needed, which made the experience interesting and allowed us to learn new things.
There were sometimes small communication challenges since we don’t speak Italian, but overall we managed and it didn’t affect the experience much.
Overall, it was an enjoyable and positive stay, and we’re glad we had the opportunity to be there.

Nicolo est un homme extraordinaire. Plein d’humour et de gentillesse il vous fera passer un excellent séjour. Son fils Mario est super sympa et rigolo aussi. Je recommande à 100% et merci encore pour ces 2 magnifiques semaines.

J’ai passé un excellent séjour chez Nicolo. Nous avons eu l’occasion de réaliser différents travaux, ce qui a été à la fois très enrichissant et instructif. Nicolo est une personne accueillante et agréable. Cette expérience a été très positive, tant sur le plan humain que pratique. Je recommande vivement ce séjour !

left after three days, as Nicolò was hitting on me in a very inappropriate way. At first he told me what a great lover he was. Whenever he said that he would like a certain thing in bed, I replied to him that this was something I didn't like, hoping to thereby convey that I wasn't interested. (However, later on, he just paraphrased this exchange as "we were talking about sex".) Then I told him that I had just gotten out of a relationship and was still thinking a lot about this person, but instead of getting the hint, he offered me a massage to console me. I declined. He also pointed out that thanks to an electric blanket, it was really warm in his bed and added that if I needed him during the night, I would know where to find him. (I slept in an area that was essentially part of his bedroom, as the only other option for wwoofers was a camper in which according to him it had 8 degrees at night.) The next day, when we were in the car, he touched my thigh twice and said in a suggestive manner "let's go to bed later". At this point I told him directly "leave this, please, I don't want to go to bed with you, I'm not attracted to you". Then he thankfully stopped hitting on me, but was also less friendly in general and when one hour later he yelled at me for making a mistake at work, I decided to leave.

Sei arrivato in fattoria chiedendo dove avresti potuto dormire. Io, gli woofer e mio figlio ti abbiamo mostrato un camper che era libero solo per te (riscaldamento incluso). Gli altri dormivano nell'altro camper. Hai scelto di dormire nella mansarda in casa , dicendo che avevi troppo caldo e poi mi che avevi freddo. Non sapevi mai cosa desideravi. Ti ho pure offerto il mio letto con coperta elettrica, lì dormo con mio figlio, ma tu hai frainteso a quanto pare... I due wwoofer possono testimoniare sul accaduto e che hai disturbato il nostro equilibrio; le tue urla costanti al telefono con i tuoi amici!
Ti ho chiesto hai bisogno? Ti ho chiesto cosa era successo per essere gentile-tu hai iniziato a raccontarmi di conversazioni su sesso e altre cose durante un tuo viaggio in Thailandia. Mi hai raccontato cose oscene con te e un tuo amico gay. Hai passato ore al telefono. Mi hai detto che ti piace fare cose strane con gli uomini. Ti ho rimproverata più volte perché volevi giocare con la motosega a fare sculture. Come, sai non si possono usare mezzi meccanici , ma tu hai insistito sino a limite della sicurezza. In ogni caso io sono sereno, mi sono comportato in maniera seria come sempre, per questo che ho deciso di risponderti tenendo la recenzione. Nelle aziende si viene per imparare e a vivere con le persone adeguandosi agli equilibri della fattoria. Ai futuri wooofer dico di stare tranquilli e di venire con serenità.

Nicolo est un hôte extrêmement accueillant qui nous a très rapidement mis à l'aise et fait sentir comme chez nous. La communication était très facile malgré notre petit niveau d'italien ! Nous sommes restés deux semaines durant lesquelles nous avons fait multiples tâches : récolte des olives (jusqu'à l'usine), taille des oliviers, plantations et rénovation des appartements (peinture, ponçage...) en bref des journées bien remplies !
Nicolo nous a intégré à sa vie et on a eu la chance de partager des repas avec ses proches : mention spéciale pour la cuisine de sa maman 🥰
Si tu es autonome et que le travail ne te fait pas peur nous recommandons un séjour chez Nicolo qui ne manque jamais d'énergie ! Grâce à lui nous avons beaucoup appris et l'expérience humaine était tout autant enrichissante. Grazie mile Nicolo tu vas nous manquer et on espère fortement qu'on se reverra ici ou ailleurs 😊
