---o----o-----0-----o----o--- An agritourism with 10 rooms, swimming pool, restaurant and a diffused library. Surrounded by a forest of centuries-old oaks unique in Sicily for the number of specimens, in the green silence and peace of the Madonie Natural Park. We have a small farm with two alpacas, two horses, twelve Sardinian donkeys, six baby goats, three dwarf sheep, a dozen chickens and about 20 cows. We are setting up two organic vegetable gardens, one of which is permaculture, and small gardens. We also want to start a compost bin and a wombaculture business. - gardening - horticulture -permaculture - synergistic garden - building new fences - path cleaning and clearing - construction of signposts for forest paths - animal care - setting up compost bins for compost production The wwoofer could choose one of the activities listed above depending on his or her inclinations and abilities, there will be days when the farm is busier and there are many people with the possibility of cultural and language exchanges and varied activities, or there will be days when there is only one person present on the farm who needs a hand from the wwoofer. Connected to the farm is a literary farm where reading and creative writing activities take place, hiking combining nature and literature, good food, yoga and meditation seminars, therapeutic groups; the Hay Theatre and Poetic Forest festival takes place in early August.

Overall my time on this farm was positive with a few drawback worth mentioning. I spent one month here Sept through to Oct. The area is absolutely beautiful and the facilities are all up to scratch with private rooms with an ensuite. The work was manageable with some days harder than others but it felt like a fair amount (I did 5 days 5hrs and 2 days off). The highlight for me was the social element with other volunteers and permanent staff and Leonora. The main drawback, mainly early, on in particular was communication on both ends. Several of us who arrived felt a bit lost and, I can only really speak for myself, this felt like it greatly increased stress early on. Problems that could have been avoided, or important things to be highlighted, were not communicated when we started. Maybe a word doc to share might help with this for future volunteers. The area is also quite isolated, just to keep in mind if you don't have transport. Over time the communication issues got ironed out thankfully. I would definitely look for clarity everything at the start if you decide to come here, and to return as such to remove the chance of issues down the line. The work is usually quite repetitive (animals being fed mainly) which was ok but I think for me a month might have been a little long. I wish the guys all the best going forward and thank them for having me as a aWwoofer :)

I had the opportunity to do WWOOFing at Bosco Pianetti, an agritourism farm nestled in the heart of the Madonie Natural Park in Sicily. This experience was immensely rewarding, both personally and professionally. An exceptional setting: The farm is surrounded by a forest of centuries-old oak trees, providing a peaceful environment ideal for discovering Sicily's rich nature. Varied and educational tasks: I had the chance to participate in several activities, including permaculture gardening, fence construction, trail maintenance, and especially caring for animals (donkeys, horses, alpacas, sheep, goats, etc.). A unique cultural immersion: Agritourism plays a key role at Bosco Ianetti, with events like the Poetic Forest Festival and activities that combine nature and literature. This was a great way to learn about local culture and connect with other volunteers and visitors. A welcoming and supportive team: The hosts are passionate and take the time to share their knowledge. I learned a lot about sustainable farming practices and the management of an eco-friendly farm. In summary: This experience was a true opportunity for learning and disconnecting, perfect for those looking to get involved in ecological agriculture while discovering Sicily from a different perspective. I highly recommend this farm to any WWOOFer in search of authenticity, exchange, and a commitment to a more sustainable way of life.

I was able to spend two unforgettable weeks in Pianetti with my two children (5 and 8 years old). The nature that surrounds the farm is fantastic. The peace and quiet is wonderful. We were surprised at how many volunteers lived together on the farm and shared the house and kitchen. In the end, this was the best experience of our days in Pianetti. Working, cooking and having a great time together. Leonora was only in Pianetti at the weekend, and the staff who were there really looked after the well-being of all the volunteers. Thanks so much for this! As others have already commented, the focus here is on preparing the surroundings and paths for the guests, painting the signposts and not on farming. This is good to know. For us it was a relaxed and enjoyable job. The children would have liked a little more contact with the animals. If, for example, the horses are decisive for your choice, it makes sense to ask whether they are still on site. They were absent during our time. It's good if you know how to help yourself and simply lend a hand. Communication and organisation was sometimes difficult, as it was not entirely clear to volunteers who was responsible for what. Just ask and you'll be happy there. A perfect place for children - safe, exciting for adventures, they can help out or just play. I would like to thank Leonora and the whole team from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful experience on their farm. We really like to come back once.

Honestly, it was the most sincere and authentic experience I had in my entire trip. Plus, it was my first real long stay in a new place surrounded by strangers, strangers who after have became my friends. I was supposed to stay only for a week and half but because I had a good time there, I have asked to Leonora to stay longer (I have stayed 3weeks). It’s true that the owner isn’t here often but the workers (especially one) tried their best to build a dynamic with the volunteers. I have met many personalities and animals there, the landscapes are unreal and I was feeling so relaxed. We have built the entire vegetables garden with 2 other volunteers and the workers since when the other past volunteers was there, it was only the beginning of the project. I did a lot of painting but it wasn’t an issue for me because it was kind of therapeutic to write sentences with your own style. Sure it wasn’t perfect but I think that’s a beautiful part of traveling, meeting the imperfections of a place and the people who are living there. That was an honest introduction of the locals lives, and because of that, I get to understand more how living in Sicily really is. So I would like to thanks Leonora and everyone that I have met for making this stay a precious memory that I will keep forever ❤️ I will definitely come back!!

I spent 4 days at Pianetti. The place is really beautiful, amazing view over the sea and the mountains. Unfortunately, Leonora (the owner) wasn't there during my stay. I was supposed to stay longer and meet her afterwards. I had to do signposts with very flexible working hours. However, I was really interested in the other activities mentioned in the description (gardening, horticulture, permaculture, animal care) but these are not available. The volunteers' work/management etc is not really organized yet. As a woman traveling alone, I felt unsafe unfortunately because all the volunteers are sleeping in the same house and you can easily find yourself with only one man or several.
