ErbeAllegre è un’azienda agricola nata nel 2017 a Corio, a 650 m s.l.m. in Val Malone, a circa 30 km da Torino. Io sono Federica, la fondatrice. L’azienda si concentra sulla coltivazione di frutta e verdura e sulla trasformazione dei prodotti. Gestisco diversi terreni, un laboratorio professionale e un piccolo negozio proprio dove abito. Negli anni ho avviato nuovi progetti come l’apicoltura, l’impianto di piccoli frutti e l’allevamento di pecore.
Nel progetto mi aiuta mia mamma Mariella per la trasformazione in laboratorio, mentre gli altri familiari mi sostengono in diverse attività. Oltre a noi, troverete alcune pecore, cani, gatti e oche.
Ospitalità e Alloggio
I WWOOFer saranno alloggiati a casa mia (a circa 5-10 minuti dalla sede aziendale). Vivo in una casa di montagna, in modo rustico e immersa nella natura. Avrete a disposizione una camera con due letti a castello; il bagno e la cucina sono condivisi con me, così come tutti i pasti. In base alla stagione e alle temperature, potreste essere alloggiati in un’altra stanza presso l’azienda. Preferirei ospitare coppie o ragazze. Se viaggi da sola/o, è possibile che (previo tuo consenso) tu debba dividere la stanza con altri WWOOFer.
Cosa faremo insieme
Mi serve il vostro aiuto per quella che qui chiamiamo “AGRICOLTURA EROICA”. Il mio obiettivo è coltivare in modo sostenibile. Il lavoro è quasi tutto manuale e ogni giorno è diverso. Richiedo 6 ore al giorno per 5 giorni alla settimana. I due giorni liberi variano in base agli impegni lavorativi (solitamente non coincidono con il weekend). Preferirei una permanenza di almeno 10-15 giorni per permettervi di comprendere appieno il mio lavoro e la nostra cultura. Il ritmo dell’agricoltura è lento.
Attività costanti tutto l’anno:
-Gestione delle pecore e manutenzione dei terreni/impianti.
-Laboratorio: aiuto nella produzione e nel confezionamento di prodotti da forno; preparazione manuale di frutta e verdura per composte e conserve; pulizia dei locali e delle attrezzature.
-Eventi: partecipazione a mercati, fiere e piccoli catering.
Attività stagionali:
-Preparazione terreni, concimazione e irrigazione.
-Potature, pulizia del bosco e gestione dei rovi.
-Semina e raccolta di ortaggi, patate e piccoli frutti.
-Monitoraggio arnie e raccolta del miele.
-Taglio dell'erba e fienagione.
-Produzione natalizia in laboratorio.
Clima e Vita in Comunità
Primavera: fresco e variabile, con giornate splendide ma possibili piogge.
Estate: caldo, giornate lunghe e temporali improvvisi.
Autunno: tempo imprevedibile (sole, pioggia, caldo o freddo).
Sarete immersi nella cultura italiana: si mangia, si lavora e si sta insieme con il sorriso. Per me la famiglia e la comunità sono fondamentali. Parlo un po’ di inglese (imparato dai circa 50 WWOOFer passati di qua!), mentre gli altri membri della famiglia ci provano, ma sono italiani al 100%. È meglio se parlate un po’ di italiano per godervi l’esperienza, ma se così non fosse comunicheremo a gesti e saremo felici di insegnarvelo!
Entrerete a far parte della mia vita quotidiana. Richiedo serietà e voglia di rimboccarsi le maniche: a volte sarà dura e sarete stanchi per il calore o la fatica, ma, come dicono le recensioni, è un’esperienza che dà grandi soddisfazioni.
Tempo libero e Logistica
Nel tempo libero dovrete essere autonomi, poiché io continuerò a lavorare. Avrete a disposizione due biciclette. L’azienda dista circa 30 minuti a piedi dai paesi più vicini (dove troverete piccoli supermercati). Dal lunedì al venerdì (8:30-12:30 e 14:30-17:30) è disponibile un Taxi Bus a 2 minuti da casa (costo 2,50€) che porta alla stazione dei treni di Ciriè. Nota bene: il servizio non è attivo nel weekend e per tutto il mese di agosto. In alternativa, potete godervi i sentieri dietro casa o un tuffo al fiume.
Note importanti
Se sei allergico alle api o ai pollini, se hai una dieta molto restrittiva o esigenze particolari, valuta bene la tua richiesta. Cosa portare: Scarpe comode e chiuse (possibilmente impermeabili), vestiti da lavoro, k-way, crema solare, cappello, borraccia e spray antinsetti. I guanti da lavoro li fornisco io.

ErbeAllegre is a farm founded in 2017, located in Corio at 650m a.s.l. in Val Malone, about 30km from Turin. I am Federica, the founder. The farm focuses mainly on growing fruits and vegetables and processing them into artisanal products. I manage several plots of land, a industrial kitchen, and a small shop where I live. Over the years, I’ve started new projects, including beekeeping, small fruit orchards, and raising sheep.
I am helped by my mother, Mariella, in the processing lab, and by other family members who support various activities. Besides us, you will find sheep, dogs, cats, and geese.
Hospitality and Accommodation
WWOOFers will stay at my house (about 5-10 minutes from the farm site). I live in a rustic mountain house surrounded by nature. There is a bedroom with two sets of bunk beds; the bathroom and kitchen are shared with me, as are all meals. Depending on the season and temperature, you might stay in a different room at the farm. I prefer couples or female volunteers. If you are traveling alone, it is possible (with your consent) that you will share the room with other WWOOFers.
What we will do together
I need your help with what we call “HEROIC AGRICULTURE” in these parts. My goal is to farm sustainably. Most of the work is manual and every day is different. I ask for 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Your two free days vary based on work commitments (usually they are not on the weekend). I prefer a stay of at least 10-15 days so you can better understand my work and our culture. The rhythm of agriculture is slow.
Year-round activities:
• Sheep management and maintenance of the land and orchards.
• Commercial kitchen: helping with baking and packaging; preparing fruit and vegetables for jams and preserves; cleaning equipment and the lab.
• Markets and events: participating in local markets and catering.
Seasonal activities:
• Soil preparation, planting, and harvesting vegetables and potatoes.
• Pruning and harvesting berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries) and seasonal fruit.
• Cutting grass and haymaking.
• Checking hives, monitoring, and harvesting honey.
• Christmas production in the lab.
Climate and Community Life
• Spring: can still be cool, with beautiful days but occasional rain.
• Summer: very hot, long days, and summer storms.
• Autumn: unpredictable weather (can be hot, cold, or rainy).
You will be completely immersed in Italian culture: we eat, work, and spend time together with a smile. Family and community are very important to me. I speak a bit of English (learned from the 50 WWOOFers who have visited!), and everyone else will try their best to communicate, even though they are 100% Italian. It is better if you speak a little Italian, but if not, we will communicate through gestures and teach you some!
Please understand that you are entering my life and every activity is part of the business; I ask for seriousness and a "roll up your sleeves" attitude. Sometimes it will be hard and you may be tired, but as you can see from the reviews, it is very rewarding!
Free Time and Logistics
You must be independant in your free time, as I will continue to work. There are two bicycles available. We are a 30-minute walk from the nearest villages with small supermarkets. From Monday to Friday (8:30-12:30 / 14:30-17:30), you can take an on-call "Taxi Bus" (2.50€) just 2 minutes from the house, which takes you to the Ciriè train station. Note: The service does not run on weekends or during the month of August. Otherwise, you can enjoy the trails behind the house or a swim in the river.
Important Notes
If you are allergic to bees or pollen, have a very restrictive diet, or other special needs, please consider your request carefully. What to bring: Comfortable, closed, and waterproof shoes; clothes you can get dirty; a rain jacket; sunscreen; a hat; a water bottle; and bug spray. I will provide work gloves.

Going to Federica’s farm was truly a beautiful and unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine kindness and warm hospitality, which immediately made me feel at home. As a first-time WWOOFer, I was a bit nervous, but I never once felt embarrassed or out of place—everything was made easy and comfortable for me.
During my stay, I learned so much—not only about farming and cooking, but also about myself and the lifestyle that comes with running this kind of business. The work can be hard at times, but it’s incredibly fulfilling, and every day brings new lessons and experiences.
This experience genuinely changed my perspective and gave me a deeper appreciation for sustainable living and the effort behind it. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious—every meal felt special and made with care.
The whole family is kind, funny, and incredibly welcoming. They create such a positive and supportive environment that makes the entire experience even more meaningful. I’m so grateful for my time there and will definitely be returning soon!

I loved staying at Federica’s farm! Her family is so kind and they are all so generous. They feed you well, the accommodations are nice, and the work is really cool. There are a lot of different tasks to be done so there is always variation throughout the day, which was really great. We worked in her vegetable garden, her industrial kitchen, and her orchards. Nothing gets long or monotonous. The area that the farm is located in is so beautiful and I enjoyed going on lots of walks and hikes. I would highly recommend staying with Federica and her family, I had a great time working on the farm.

My stay with Federica was only a week, but helping out in her professional kitchen was so much fun! We cooked and ate together day and night, so I especially recommend it to anyone interested in Italian food culture. Thanks, Ben. You're a very kind and serious guy. In the fall, there's a little less outdoor work to do, but we had to turn off the irrigation in the garden and pick pumpkins and mushrooms in the woods. We worked harder in the lab, but you helped us a lot there too.

Federica è un'ospite meravigliosa e ErbeAllegre è un'azienda agricola davvero speciale. Federica ha un cuore e un'energia straordinari. È sempre stata disponibile e amichevole, così come sua madre e gli altri membri della famiglia. È stata la mia prima esperienza WWOOF e mi è piaciuta moltissimo. Ci sono stata a novembre, faceva freddo e a volte pioveva. Ma a volte c'erano anche giornate di sole. Di conseguenza, abbiamo trascorso la maggior parte del tempo lavorando in casa, ma siamo comunque riusciti a raccogliere un bel po' di frutta e verdura. Le zucche che abbiamo raccolto erano enormi ed è stato molto divertente lavorarle. Nelle giornate di sole, era meraviglioso sedersi all'aperto per pranzo. Nel tempo libero, ho esplorato la zona e sono rimasta colpita dalla bellezza del paesaggio. Ho persino scoperto un "bosco magico" sopra l'azienda. Mi mancheranno anche gli animali, come i cani, i gatti, le oche e le pecore. Grazie di cuore, cara Federica. Mi piacerebbe molto tornare di nuovo.

Sei stata molto preziosa a novembre quando il periodo Natalizio inizia a prendermi e ci sono tante cose da fare nel laboratorio. Il lavoro è un pochino più monotono (impacchettare biscotti, fare conserve e marmellate con zucca, cipolle, mele), ma durante i pasti ci siamo raccontate dei nostri rispetti nuovi progetti . ErbeAllegre is a truly special place and Federica is a truly special person and host. I'm immensely grateful to have shared two weeks with she and her family and to have witnessed the amount of dedication and care she puts into her work. Due to it being later in the fall, most of the work was indoors processing fruits/vegetables, but there was always plenty to do as she was gearing up for the holidays. The work/freetime balance allowed for time to explore the village of Corio and the insanely beautiful surrounding mountains. I'd recommend ErbeAllgre a thousand times over.
