I pasti saranno fatti tutti insieme

We are a young couple : Samuel, who took over the family beekeeping farm a few years ago and Jessica, a canadien that joined the project in 2023.
The main activity is beekeeping but there are many other activities, we have a fairly large garden that allows us to be almost autonomous as far as vegetables are concerned and many fruit trees (mainly olive trees) we do a lot of processing, from products in oil to jams. In October and November there is also a lot of work related to the olive trees (maintenance, harvest...).
I have been a woofer for two years, so seeing so many different realities I have tried to recreate a hospitable place for those who come to visit me and help out. The farm is located in the countryside 5 km from the sea, the mountains are also close(20 minutes) from where several walking and hiking trails start.
On the farm there are many animals, free-roaming dogs and cats, then there are donkeys and chickens
Wwoofers are staying in a separate appartment on the farm, we will provide the food for breakfast and the other meals are prepared together.
Work is usually in the morning. We are looking for people that can be independent in their free time.
Important! We only accept stays of a minimum of 2 weeks!

Merci beaucoup:)

Sam and Jessica are two of the most genuine people I've ever met, and so understanding! Due to some changes in their work schedule, we practically had to live together, which is something I'm not used to anymore. I was informed of these changes and the circumstances before my stay, but I had not fully grasped the extent thereof beforehand; and I'm not sure Sam and Jessica had, either. Nevertheless, I think we managed very well, not in the least because of how accommodating Sam and Jessica are!
Because not only did we share our living space together, I was taken up fully into their social life! Some of Sam's childhood friends were visiting their hometown during summer, and I was always invited to come along and spend time with them. I've also been invited to many activities that Sam and Jessica were going to do together, through which I got to experience a lot of the local culture. Two of the absolute highlights were a traditional religious procession during which three statues were rushed 'into' each other, and a visit to the handmade/produced market hosted every year in the nearby mountain village of Bivongi.
The work itself was diverse and mostly quite relaxed. There were two main activities: we picked a variety of vegetables from the garden and made those into (family recipe!) food products; and the beekeeping, of course! We spent three nights moving the bees, which I experienced as a true adventure!
Sam and Jessica, thank you so much for your hospitality!

I stayed at three different farms during my time in Italy, and this was the best WWOOFing experience I had. I loved that place and the people there; everyone was so nice, and they really took care of me. I learned a lot about beekeeping, even though it wasn’t the season. Samuel is really good at explaining things. I always knew one day before what had to be done the next day, so I could show up prepared. I cleaned the empty hives, filled honey into jars, and we also went to tend to the bees and administer some medicine. After work, which started at 8 in the morning, we prepared lunch together. I had free time in the afternoon to enjoy the beach, drive to Stilo, or go for a hike. Since I was the only WWOOFer, we also did some activities together, which were always very fun.
