Saluti cari WWOOFers! ---o----o-----0-----o----o--- Saluti cari WWOOFers! The Podere Moirano farm is a permaculture project with regenerative agriculture - an experiment in creating sustainable living spaces. Barbara & Rodolfo farm according to the principles of permaculture. Cereals, vegetables, aromatic and medicinal herbs, nuts and fruit are grown. An agroforestry project and the purchase of animals (chickens, donkeys, bees) are also planned. We are also involved in the processing of our produce and make jam, syrup, chutney, tinctures, ointments or herbal mixtures and use various methods to preserve our products: Fermenting, pickling, vacuuming. We work and live in a small, relaxed, loving community, cooking, working and eating together (vegetarian/vegan). There are also retreats and opportunities on the premises or in the surrounding area. There is a beautiful gorge with bathing bays nearby, and the sea, Turin, Milan and Genoa are approx. 1 hour away. Your duties on the farm will depend on the needs of the garden and the seasons. You will be staying in a simple room and will share the bathroom and lounge with other woofers. We normally arrange a stay of at least 4 weeks. Have a look, we look forward to getting to know you! Barbara & Rolf We get up with the sun, whoever feels like it does yoga or something similar or has breakfast according to their personal needs. In the morning, we discuss the work and tasks that need to be done in the garden, forest, house etc. and then off we go. You can learn how farming works according to the criteria of permaculture, work in the garden, composting, mowing, looking after the chickens and the swimming pond, etc. You might build a raised bed or mend the fence. Lunch together takes place at about 1 pm; in summer we take a long break (siesta), when it gets cooler in the late afternoon we finish the work. ---o----o-----0-----o----o--- Saluti cari WWOOFers! Rolf and Barbara welcomed and “rescued” me onto their farm following a bad experience in another farm in the region. They have been really lovely and made sure I had everything I needed to feel comfortable. Communication was easy and I loved cooking all together in the open kitchen. Work within the farm is varied from watering plants, working in the garden, to cleaning and helping in the kitchen. Rolf and Barbara also really welcome your own ideas and initiatives, for example, I ran a couple of yoga classes in the evenings after diner. The pond was a welcomed oasis during the warm afternoons. I had a lovely time and miss the farm already. I hope I’ll be back soon!

This one-month woofing stay at Barbara and Rolf’s farm was our first woofing and will remain memorable forever. We met incredible people, very warm and generous in addition to having been welcomed with open arms. During our stay, we were able to participate in their life project and, in addition to having learned a lot about permaculture, their way of living inspired us in the way we see life. Our daily work was to feed the chickens, take care of the garden and the natural pool but also plant and harvest various fruits and vegetables. Each ingredient of the meals came from the garden and were a pure delight. Apart from the work we also visited Genoa which is very accessible via the train station at Acqui Terme. Barabara and Rolf have always offered to help us and they try their best to make us the most confortable at modère moirano. What we remember from this woofing is an exceptional encounter, which motivated us more to work on their project, a total disconnection and a place with a view over the entire valley where we felt at home and where we would come back with great pleasure! For us now podere moirano will remain in our hearts. Thank you so much Barbara and Rolf for all this and for being the people you are 🫶🏼 PS: long live Brittany;)

I spent a month at Podere Moirano with Barbara and Rolf, it was my first wwoofing experience and I couldn't have made a better choice. I loved working at the farm and with them. My work consisted mostly of caring for the chickens (which I already miss just as much as them), planting various plants for the season, watering and helping with tasks that arose like sieving soil for their compost. Besides work they also included me in their activities and family and always made sure I was comfortable, I always felt welcomed. I learned a lot about permaculture from Barbara and in general found their way of living very inspiring. The surrounding area is really beautiful and on weekends I had time to explore it as well as make trips to towns like Genova and Savona, which are very accessable by train. I will always be grateful for my time at Podere Moirano and will keep a special place in my heart for my time there as well as for Barbara and Rolf.😊

During my two month stay I was made to feel very welcome by Barbara, Rolf and everyone else who was there during my time. I had the opportunity to learn a lot about farming and permaculture and they were always happy to answer questions. They ensured I had everything I needed throughout my time there and there was always lots of amazing food, a lot of it coming from the garden. Acqui Terme is a beautiful place with many other cities and towns easy to access by train. Thank you all for an amazing time and ensuring I had an amazing experience!

Thank you so much for the marvellous time at yours. I felt heartly welcomed from the first minute and enjoyed spending my time in Acqui so much. My work included caring about the chickens, the garden and smaller building projects. Everyone was really patient and always happy to help. In the morning you will discuss the urgent tasks and work either together or alone, as the property is quite spacious. The work remains varied and offers countless opportunities, even for your own ideas. You will always be included in the families activities, but also have the opportunity to seclude in your own accommodation. The working hours were variable, so that you could integrate your own excursions. During my stay I was spoiled with two freshly prepared vegetarian meals a day. I will always be grateful to have met you and draw a lot of inspiration from our time together.
