Ciao mi chiamo Laura, ho 47 anni , insieme a mio figlio Nicola e a mio marito portiamo avanti la nostra azienda,Alleviamo razze autoctone, come la Podolica e il suino nero aspromontano, coltiviamo il grano Jermano un grano antico e da un anno stiamo coltivando delle pere. Scegliere di vivere in sintonia con la biodiversità che ci accoglie è la nostra priorità. La mattina mi metto a preparare la pasta con la nostra farina di Jermano , poi vado nel campo delle pere , mentre mio figlio si occupa degli animali la mattina e dei nostri cavalli, Antonello invece si occupa del nostro punto vendita. A pranzo pranziamo insieme con gli altri ragazzi che lavorano da noi. Ho un monolocale con cucina, camera letto e bagno... Le persone che scelgono di vivere un'esperienza con noi, hanno la cucina e possono cucinarsi.. A pranzo se lo desiderano possiamo cucinare e pranzare tutti insieme Io vivo in un paesino di montagna nel parco nazionale d'Aspromonte... è un posto magico,tra faggi, cascate e sentieri escursionistici con vista sia sul mare jonico che tirrenico.

After enjoying two wonderful farms in the UK we decided to head to Italy, to spend a week in the heart of the Calabria region. We were graciously met at Rosarno by Antonello and the adventure began as we headed for the mountains. After some delicious Pizza and a glass of Antonello’s Nero D Avola, we settled in with anticipation of what our time in the mountains would be like. Laura met us at 8 am and explained the intricacies of the farm history, the traditional methods and the tasks involved in running the business model, that rears traditional live stock, grows, forges fresh produce ( fungi, citrus, chestnuts and so much more ) for the Braceria from the surrounding agricultural lands. We became part of the team, with limited Italian, we used google translate! Our hosts and their team were great teachers, thank you Maximo, Laura, Antonello and all the youngsters & farm folks we met, it was an authentic experience, of Italian farming, butchery and cuisine, one which we will always remember! The days are active and full of Italian hospitality, lunches, diners and lot’s of tasty treats were shared regularly as part of a family meal or as a passing bites during the busy service shifts! The farm is traditional and unique in its National Park location, as WWOOFer’s we saw the soul of the ancient flavors of Aspromonte! Each day we learnt more about the agricultural history of the Calabrian region & its fabulous cuisine, Grazei. Hasta la próxima!

Una experiencia increible para toda nuestra familia. La verdad es que Laura y Antonio nos enseñaron como se vive en la Calabria, nos presentaron a sus amigos, compartimos tiempo, trabajo y celebración con ellos, y disfrutamos un monton las dos semanas que pasamos en su hacienda. Muy recomendable para toda la gente que busquen experiencias autenticas. Un'esperienza incredibile per tutta la nostra famiglia. La verità è che Laura e Antonio ci hanno mostrato come si vive in Calabria, ci hanno presentato ai loro amici, abbiamo condiviso tempo, lavoro e momenti di festa con loro, e ci siamo divertiti un sacco le due settimane passate nella loro tenuta. Molto raccomandabile per tutte le persone che cercano esperienze autentiche.
