English version (Italian version below): We are a family-run organic farm in the heart of Tuscany, nestled in one of Italy’s most iconic landscapes. Our property spans over 110 hectares of vineyard, olive groves, a vegetable garden, an orchard, and native forests. The rolling hills, cypress trees, medieval villages, and breathtaking sunsets make this area truly magical. Our journey began two years ago, and we are gradually building a sustainable future for our land. In 2024, we produced our first handcrafted wine and olive oil. Sustainability is a core principle of everything we do; we see ourselves as stewards of this land, nurturing its biodiversity and respecting its rhythms. Our family consists of us three: Cecilia, Joe, daughter Sabrina, and our dogs Bodhi and Pepe, both very friendly, who roam the estate freely. We manage and cultivate the farm ourselves. Together, we also run a small vegan agriturismo, which operates during the warmer months and allows guests to experience the beauty of Tuscan rural life. Our farming activities change with the seasons, all offering different experiences: - Winter months focus on vineyard care: pruning, binding vines, and repairing the vineyard's infrastructure. - Late winter involves preparing the vegetable garden and greenhouse for planting, pruning fruit trees in the orchard, and tending to the olive trees. - Spring brings green pruning in the vineyard and active care for the vegetable garden, herb, and flower gardens. - Autumn is harvest time. We gather olives to produce our olive oil and prepare the vineyard, fields, and gardens for the winter months. We aim to share hands-on skills like vine care, planting, composting, and sustainable farming techniques. WWOOFers will gain insight into organic farming & viticulture and the importance of environmental stewardship. A typical day (in winter) might look like this: Start with breakfast. Spend the morning pruning and binding vines in the vineyard. Share lunch as a group. After lunch, plant seeds in the greenhouse, preparing raised beds in the vegetable garden, or pruning fruit trees. Enjoy free time before dinner. During the colder months, we offer WWOOFers accommodations in the guest rooms of our agriturismo. These are spacious, comfortable rooms, each with a private bathroom. WWOOFers will also have access to a shared dining room and kitchen. We provide food for all meals. As a vegan household, we serve wholesome, plant-based meals but are otherwise happy to accommodate vegetarians as well. Meals are often shared and are an opportunity to connect. We enjoy activities like exploring our beautiful corner of Italy - including its incredible wines and learning from other winemakers - going for a coffee or drink in the surrounding villages, yoga, gardening, and experimenting with plant-based recipes using ingredients from our land. Our location in the Crete Senesi and Val d'Orcia regions is a paradise for nature lovers. WWOOFers can enjoy things like: - Hiking and exploring: The rolling hills, cypress-lined roads, and winding trails are perfect for walks, bike rides, or simply soaking in the scenery. - Medieval towns: Visit nearby Pienza, Montepulciano, and Montalcino, known for their Renaissance architecture and vibrant history. - Thermal baths: Relax in the natural hot springs of Bagni San Filippo, Bagno Vignoni or Rapolano Terme. - Cultural experiences: Discover the art, festivals, and food markets of the surrounding villages and Siena, about 45 minutes away. Our farm is a serene and inspiring place to connect with the rhythms of rural life and the beauty of Tuscany. Please only send us an enquiry if you agree with the following: - We are a vegan household; we accept vegetarian diets, but please no meat/fish in our house. - Our dogs Bodhi and Pepe roam freely on the property; people who are afraid of dogs or have allergies are not in the right place. - We are in the countryside and a car is essential to reach us and move freely around the area. Please only WOOFers who come with their own car.

I had a great time at Podere Sole, 4 weeks in April to May. I`m very greatful Cecilia could receive me with such short notice, as I changed from another wwoof farm. I`m happy to have got the opportunity, to learn pruning olive trees, and also learn selecting the buds in the vineyard. Working hours were very reasonable, delicious vegan lunch together with Cecilia, Sabrina and Joe was always enjoyable. The accomodation was comfortable in a very beautiful apartement. The farm and the surroundings are so stunning, the wievs almost unreal, like being in a fary tail. In free time it was nice to take walks, for example to the village Trequanda, I also very much appreciated going with Sabrina and Cecilia to visit some of the towns in the region. I hope you all are fine, Bodi and Pepe to, and that your harvest is good this autumn. Hope to revisit, and really recomend wwoofing here!

Podere Sole was amazing. Joe, Sabrina, and Cecilia are smart, interesting, kind people who made me feel welcome and taught me a lot about sustainable farming, wine, vegan food, and life, too. The location is stunning and the food they made was great too. I will miss Bohdi and Pepe so much! I highly recommend WWOOFING here.

Amazing, that's the only word we could think of after leaving Podere Sole. We went there at the beginning of June to work in the vineyards. We met Cecilia and Joe who are absolutely lovely people; if you want to share lunches with open-minded people deep conversations and a great sense of humor, run to podere sole. Sabrina is extremely patient, kind, and cultured. It was a real pleasure to spend a few days with them. (And they cook divinely well!!!). Big kisses to Pepe and Bodhi, who are just as adorable as their owners. We hope to come back soon! Lola & Pauline

We came as a group of three and worked with Joe for a week on bud selection. We had an incredible experience as Joe was so welcoming and was always patient when giving directions. The accommodation was superb and the farm had the most beautiful views of the Tuscan hills. We loved having the company of the two dogs - Pepe and Bodie – during our stay and we can't wait to revisit!
