MAXIMUM VERBLIJF VAN 1 WEEK! Hallo, Mijn naam is Daniel Ik ben beeldend kunstenaar en was als docent verbonden aan de Vrije Academie Rotterdam. Sinds 2009 verzorg ik samen met mijn vrouw een olijfboomgaard met amandel- en fruitbomen in het noorden van Sicilië. 7 à 8 maanden elk jaar verblijven wij op ons landje, de rest van de tijd wonen we in Rotterdam. Thérèse is boekbinder en vervaardigd cartonnage ook zij zat in het volwassenenonderwijs. Ons werk bestaat uit het maaien van het terrein, het wieden van de kruidentuin, het snoeien van bomen en struiken en het bewateren van de planten. Het oogsten van het fruit, de amandelen en de olijven gebeurd in het respectievelijke seizoen. Van het fruit wordt jam en marmelade gemaakt. Er is Moerbei, Vlier, Peer, Sinaasappel, Citroen, Vijg en Kaki. Van de amandelen worden gebak (koekjes, taarten) gebakken en marsepein en amandelspijs vervaardigd. De olijven worden tot Extra Vergine olijfolie geperst. Alle producten zijn van biologische landbouw. Voor al deze werkzaamheden kunnen we hulp goed gebruiken. Bij ons heb je een eigen huisje ter beschikking voor je verblijf. Hiervoor is een gebouw uit 1888 met de druivenpers en van de wijnproductie verbouwd. Er staat een tweepersoons bed en op de entresol staat een éénpersoonsbed. Verder is er een aanrecht met warm en koud water, een waterkoker en een koelkast. Er is een douche en een wc. We verzorgen drie maaltijden: Ontbijt (Italiaans), warme lunch en een avondmaaltijd. Er zullen vlees-, vis- en vegetarische maaltijden worden bereid. Deze maaltijden gebruiken we gezamenlijk buiten op het terras of binnen in on huis bij slecht weer. De locatie van ons terrein ligt in de gemeente Reitano in het noorden van Sicilië aan de rand van het natuurreservaat ‘Parco dei Nebrodi’ op ca. 8 km van het strand. Je kunt er prima wandelen in de bergen en de bossen. In zee kun je uiteraard zwemmen en in het kraakheldere water wordt vaak gesnorkeld. In het dal ligt het stadje Santo Stefano di Camastra. In dit traditionele keramiekcentrum zijn vele keramiekwinkeltjes en er is een keramiekmuseum. Een bezoek aan een keramiekfabriek behoort tot de mogelijkheden. In het zomerseizoen worden overal in de omgeving culturele manifestaties en processies gehouden. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- MAXIMUM STAY 1 WEEK! Hello, My name is Daniel I am a visual artist and I was a teacher at the Free Academy Rotterdam. Since 2009 my wife and I have been providing an olive grove with almond and fruit trees in the north of Sicily. We stay on our orchard for 7 to 8 months every year, the rest of the time we live in Rotterdam. Thérèse is a bookbinder and works with cartonnage, she was also in adult education. Our work consists of mowing the terrain, weeding the herb garden, pruning trees and shrubs and watering the plants. The fruit, almonds and olives are harvested in the respective season. With the fruit we make jam and marmalade. There is Mulberry, Elderberry, Pear, Orange, Lemon, Fig and Khaki. Pastries (biscuits, pies) are baked from the almonds and marzipan and almond paste are made. The olives are pressed into Extra Virgin Olive oil. All products are from organic farming. We can very much use help for all this work. With us you will have your own house for your stay. For this purpose, a building from 1888 with the grape press and wine production was renovated. There is a double bed and on the mezzanine there is a a single bed . There is also a kitchen block with hot and cold water, an electric kettle and a refrigerator. There is a shower and a toilet. We provide three meals: Breakfast (Italian), hot lunch and an evening meal. Meat, fish and vegetarian meals will be prepared. We eat these meals together outside on the terrace or inside the house in bad weather. The location of our site is in the municipality of Reitano in the north of Sicily on the edge of the nature reserve ‘Parco dei Nebrodi ’ about 8 km from the beach. You can enjoy hiking in the mountains and forests. You can of course swim in the sea and in the crystal clear water you’ll often find divers. In the valley the town of Santo Stefano di Camastra is situated. There are many ceramic shops in this traditional ceramic center and there is also a ceramic museum. A visit to a ceramic factory is possible. In the summer season, cultural events and processions are held all over the area. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- PERMANENZA MASSIMA 1 SETTIMANA! Ciao, Mi chiamo Daniele, sono un artista di belle arti ero professore alla Free Academy di Rotterdam. Dal 2009 mia moglie ed io gestiamo un oliveto con mandorli e alberi da frutto nel nord della Sicilia. Siamo nella nostra campagna per 7-8 mesi ogni anno. Il resto del tempo viviamo a Rotterdam. Thérèse è una rilegatrice di libri e fa del cartonaggio. Anche lei era professoressa. Il nostro lavoro consiste nel falciare il terreno, diserbare il giardino di erbacce, potare alberi e arbusti e annaffiare le piante. La frutta, le mandorle e le olive vengono raccolte nella rispettiva stagione. Dei frutti prepariamo confettura e marmellata. C'è Gelso, Sambuco, Pera, Arancia, Limone, Fico e Cachi. Cuciniamo pasticcini (biscotti, torte), marzapane e martorana con le mandorle . Portiamo le olive al frantoio per estrarre l’olio extravergine. Tutti i prodotti sono da agricoltura biologica. Per tutti questi lavori qualche aiuto ci farebbe molto comodo. Da noi avrai la tua casetta a disposizione per il tuo soggiorno. A tal fine, un edificio del 1888 con il torchio per la produzione del vino è stato ristrutturato. Adesso c’è un letto matrimoniale e un letto singolo sul soppalco. C'è anche un cucinino con acqua calda e fredda, un bollitore elettrico e un frigorifero. C'è una doccia e un bagno. Forniamo tre pasti: Prima colazione (italiana), pranzo caldo e cena semplice. Verranno serviti piatti con carne, pesce e piatti vegetariani. Mangiamo questi pasti insieme fuori sulla terrazza o all'interno della casa in caso di maltempo. La posizione del nostro sito si trova nel comune di Reitano nel nord della Sicilia, ai margini della riserva 'Parco Naturale dei Nebrodi ' a circa 8 km dalla spiaggia. Si può godere di gite in montagna e nelle foreste. Naturalmente è possibile fare il bagno nel mare e l'acqua cristallina invita a fare del sport subacqueo. A valle si trova la cittadina di Santo Stefano di Camastra. In questo centro tradizionale di ceramica ci sono molti negozi di ceramica e un museo della ceramica. È possibile fare una visita ad una fabbrica di ceramica. Nella stagione estiva, eventi culturali e processioni si svolgono in tutta la zona.

I had a wonderful experience with Daniel and Thérèse. They are very generous people who make you feel more like a guest than a worker. The tasks and schedules were absolutely realistic and the land was truly beautiful. I had my own little house and terrace which were lovely. The only thing is that it is pretty far away from other things to do autonomously but if you're happy spending your afternoons chilling, you'll be very happy there (as I was). The final thing is that I can't not mention is that the food was FANTASTIC. It was an absolute delight to spend that week with them both and I would return in a heartbeat. Merci encore à vous deux!
