L' accomodation e' direttamente in vigna. My name is Marco, and I’m a guy from southern Italy — precisely from the Cilento area, a wonderful national park recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I grew up there until the age of 20, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the authentic rhythm of rural life. My passion for chemistry took me far from home: first to Padua, where I earned a degree in Industrial Chemistry, and then to Spain, where I completed a Master’s in Environmental and Sustainable Chemistry. After various experiences working in laboratories across Europe, I realized that no place inspired me as much as my beloved Cilento. So, when my father — who has been producing wine in his vineyard since 2003 — proposed that I join the family project, I decided to return to my roots. The same happened with my brother, who graduated in physics but has always had a passion for wine. Together, we take turns helping our father during different times of the year. Today, all of us — my mother, father, brother, and I — manage and take part in Tenuta Conti di Anghirri, a project that combines tradition and innovation. I’m mainly responsible for the cellar and fermentation processes, while my father passionately takes care of the vineyard. Throughout the year, volunteers will be spending time with me (Marco) from July to the end of October, and with my father (Nello) from March to the end of June. We cultivate one hectare of organic vineyard, following environmentally friendly and sustainable practices. In addition to the vineyard, we have a vegetable garden, chickens, a dog, and several fruit trees, which together create a small, self-sufficient, and healthy ecosystem. Our goal is to produce an authentic, high-quality wine that tells the story of our unique land while promoting a more conscious lifestyle in harmony with nature. Typical agricultural activities include pruning, planting, thinning, grafting, and much more — all related to vineyard management and general farm work. During the summer months, a typical day starts early to avoid the midday heat. Activities vary depending on the season and current needs — from vineyard care and gardening to harvesting fresh vegetables, feeding the chickens and dog, watering plants, or maintaining the paths and trails around the estate. Every day is different, and each task has its own rhythm: here, we work in close contact with nature, following its timing and needs. All activities are designed to be useful to the daily life of the estate and to offer volunteers an authentic and educational experience.Alongside the farming activity, we're also looking for people who can manage social media and create professional videos and photos, that could be another opportunity to stay with us and enjoy the italian lifestyle. Accommodation is located directly in the vineyard. The house has two rooms and can host up to two couples or two individual volunteers. It’s about 1 km on foot from the nearest small village and 4 km from the larger town of Vallo della Lucania, where all services are available. Our family lives in a separate house in Vallo della Lucania, just a 5-minute drive away, so we’ll always be nearby if volunteers need anything. Our vegetable garden provides most of our food. For breakfast, we usually have a slice of bread with tomatoes, seasonal fruit, and tea or coffee. There will always be biscuits, milk, and coffee available for a proper Italian breakfast. Lunch is prepared by my mother and is usually served either at our home in Vallo or in the vineyard. For dinner, we’ll provide a main dish for the evening. The food is cooked by my mother, but both the volunteers and our family help set the table, wash the dishes, and tidy up afterward. The accommodation is independent and equipped with a small kitchen. Volunteers are also welcome to use products from the garden if they’d like to cook something for themselves from time to time. The house is also equipped with a washing machine and all the necessary cleaning supplies (brooms, detergents, mop, etc.). It’s the volunteers’ responsibility to keep the place clean and leave it in the same condition as they found it.

I had a wonderful time at Tenuta Conti di Anghirri. I spent just over two weeks at the farm in May helping Nello in the vineyard. The daily schedule was 7.30am-12 and the work was easy and enjoyable. At each lunch we enjoyed their wine which is lovely. We had lunch everyday at their family home in the nearby town and it was always delicious, I looked forward to it each day, Piera is a wonderful cook! And the mozzerella from the local cheese shop is the best I’ve ever had!! The accomodation was also beautiful and super comfortable with amazing views of the countryside. It was so lovely spending time with the family, they were so kind and made me feel so welcome. We enjoyed a tour of the local museum together and day at a beautiful beach. I was sad to say goodbye and I wish I had stayed longer. I hope to return in the future!

I spent amazing eleven days in the house on the beautiful vineyard near Vallo della Lucania. Upon arrival Piera picked me up and I was immediately warmly welcomed into the home of the family. Later on the first day, moving into the vineyard, I got introduced to Vito the dog and Nello, who we would share the work on the mornings with. Nello not only showed us the various tasks on the farm, he would always have a smile on his face and a feint tune on his lips, showing us a stress-free and content way of work. The task at this time of year included: grass moving, cleaning; filling and corking bottles, pruning small plant shoots, adjusting the big plant shoots, installing storm protection and work on the vine-tasting terrace. After work there would always be lavish lunches enjoyed together prepared by Piera, of course with the opportunity to taste the vine! The far reaching natural beauty and old towns also provide plenty of opportunity to explore, I was for example able to visit nearby towns and look at two archeological sites. All in all I had a wonderful time - thank you so much!

Grazie mille a Marco, Nello e Piera!

Wow wow wow! There are no words to describe the amazing experience we had on this farm. First of all, we slept in a small house with a door that led straight to their vineyard, on top of a hill, so the view was just amazing. There was also a sweet dog named Vito who was the cutest, and some cute chickens that we could take eggs from. The hosts were such warm and kind people. We did the work alongside Nelo who was lovely and very patient with us, and his smile never left his face. At noon he drove us to their house and we had lunch together prepared by his wife Piara, such a talented and nice woman and an amazing cook! We also got to meet other family members and friends and everyone was so lovely and treated us like we were part of the family! Highly, highly recommend this place. Thank you all so much!

I had a wonderful week at Tenuta Conti di Anghirri with Nello and Piera! The vineyard is situated in a beautiful valley in the Cilento National Park and the sceneries are stunning. The house in the vineyards (built by Nello himself!) is cozy and the cute town of Pellare is just a 15 minute walk away. Their son, Marco, oranizes the WWOOFing program while abroad and he was super helpful and generous with recommendations for the area. The work is varied - we did some work on the vines (cleaning up after pruning, binding the vines), bottling, and painting the winery terrace. The winery also participates in a regional research program for reviving extinct/forgotten grape varieties which was very interesting for me as a sommelier. Piera's cooking was AMAZING and I learned a lot about the local cuisine from her. Grazie mille to the Conti family for this beautiful experience!!
