We are Simona and Danilo and we look after this place with Anthea and Ethan (6 and 4 years old) in the mountains of Palermo in the middle of nature, a half ha of terraced land with stone walls with olive trees, fruit trees, pine trees and two streams. You can reach us by bus from the railway station of Palermo to Montelepre or Pioppo where we can collect you; by prior arrangement we can also pick you up in Palermo. We have almost completed the rehabilitation of the buildings using green techniques, now we try to put into production the land which had been abandoned for over 25 years, by applying the principles and techniques of permaculture and learning the art of "do it yourself" for the construction of a reality in balance with the nature of the place and tending towards self-sufficiency from the local community. We work in the house to complete the restructuring, we prune and collect branches from olive and pine trees, produce wood chips and firewood for warmth in the winter, produce essential oils, we manage the land for fire protection, we harvest the olives, we plant trees, we make bread and we begin to deal with horticulture and beekeeping. By prior arrangement we can offer you a lift to Palermo and possibly hospitality in the city during your free time. We eat genuine vegetarian food and all meals are eaten together. We can accommodate you in a tent (provided by us), in the olive grove where there is a comfortable compost toilet overlooking the valley, or in a room to share with other WWOOFers. We speak English and French. Length of stay by arrangement.

As artists we learn to live in the country. Ciao my name is Roby, I do not have a farm, I am fascinated by creativity and have made it my job, in 2016 I started with permaculture I have a summer job and live most of the year in the country, but in July, August and September I am not here. Here you will find beautiful coloured hills that offer spectacular sunsets and rainbows, as the stars at night. Activities are: construction using natural materials (mud bricks, straw bales, stones, wood, etc ). The olive harvest from October to December (to make oil, paté, etc.), pruning fruit trees (when the moon is waning), in the synergic garden, seeding grain / old varieties, legumes, beans, peas, soybeans, chickpeas etc .. harvesting grapes (for wine making as it once was, crushing the grapes with our feet, etc ...) and all the fruit that the countryside offers: figs, prickly pears, persimmons, apples, quince, almond, rose hips, etc ... we make jams, cakes, bread, pizza, pasta etc ... all on a small scale for self sufficiency, we collect and cut the wood to keep warm and cook, we eat wild vegetables in season. My land is 60 km from the sea, near the natural park of the Madonie, the station is nearby. The house is small but comfortable, bathroom, hot water, has a bedroom and a shared living room, there is internet connection for email and some research. For any info it’s better to telephone, I speak bad English, and a little French and Spanish, see you soon.

Our farm is located in the hills overlooking the Golfo di Castellammare. You can get here by train or bus to Partinico or Alcamo. I live here with my husband and our two children, my parents and the family of N., who works with us on the farm. We cultivate about 17 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and arable land from which we produce wine, olive oil, vegetables and fruit. We have been organic for more than twenty years and we are always open to new environmentally friendly and sustainable methods. Help is always welcome especially during the olive harvest (October and November) and grape harvest (September). We also need help with pruning the vines and fruit trees, removing suckers from the olive trees, transplanting and sowing vegetables. Accommodation is in our house, in an independent room with bathroom. We eat all meals together, using mainly vegetables, grains and legumes and any help is welcome in the kitchen. We are in the heart of western Sicily: Palermo, Trapani, Segesta, Selinunte, Monreale, the Zingaro Nature Reserve are within easy reach. We like the idea of sharing with others the place where we have decided to live. My mother is American, my husband is Finnish, N. and his family Albanian and we like the idea of having the world come to our house! We speak English, Spanish, Finnish, Albanian.

Our farm is situated in Agro di Monreale (PA) in the Jato hills with the Pomo lake nearby. Reachable by bus from Palermo or train to Partinico station. We mainly cultivate olives, vines and seasonal vegetables. Everything is cultivated organically. The fruit and vegetables are made into jams and preserves on the farm. We also offer rural hospitality. Help needed mainly for harvesting produce but also for all the other phases of cultivation and preparation of produce. The owner of the farm works with WWOOFers or, occasionally, one of the workers works with you. Jobs are flexible and can be for only a few hours or all day depending on what needs to be done. There are two comfortable double rooms and a room for 4 available, with bathroom, which are also used for the guests. The rooms are in the main house and all meals are eaten together with the owners. Interesting nearby sites included the Monte Jato archaeological park, the sea and the cities of Palermo, Monreale and Trapani. There are also many interesting walks, bird watching, riding etc. We hope to share our love for nature, the earth and our organic lifestyle with you.
A small rural hamlet, surrounded by forest, composed of small houses grouped around the main structure, which was born as a village of transhumance remains an open place. Today it hosts an Environmental Education Centre, accredited by the WWF, the MIUR and the Ente Parco delle Madonie and managed by the Palma Nana cooperative. We have been operating for more than 35 years, 5 km from the city of Cefalù. The nearest village (within walking distance) is Sant'Ambrogio where buses arrive (Sommatinese) from the Cefalù train station (Trenitalia). Contact us and within 3 days Giuseppe, the manager of the C.E.A. or Franca will reply. Our work follows the seasons: we host school groups in spring and adventure camps during the summer. We work mainly with children but also with adults: we organize weekends in nature, international exchanges and training courses. We cultivate two synergistic gardens, we have a chicken house and lots of green spaces. The volunteers will be assigned different tasks, depending on the needs of the structure and the vocation of the volunteer: from work in the garden, to maintenance of the structure, to help in the kitchen, work schedules are organized during meetings. The volunteers will share the daily life and work both with the manager and with the different workers. We offer lifts to the sea, Cefalù or Sant'Ambrogio and all the help you need for organizing your time off to discover the wonders of the island. Volunteers will be hosted in a part of the structure dedicated to the staff, with multiple rooms (max 3 beds per room) and a shared bathroom equipped with a washing machine. You will be able to use the wifi which is available in some areas. Our key words are self-management and cooperation, life and knowledge of nature.
Our farm is family run, consisting of myself, Ambrogio I live here almost permanently, my wife, who is here with our daughter every weekend or whenever they can be. It is located in the province of Palermo at an altitude of 600 meters where wheat fields offer the picturesque and endless landscapes of central Sicily, in the municipality of Sclafani Bagni (PA), about 60 km from the Madonie and from several maritime sites such as Cefalu or Agrigento. It is reachable by bus from Palermo / Valledolmo, by train from Palermo or Catania. It extends for 10 ha, 1.00 of which olive trees. Most of land is used for the cultivation of antique grains rotating with lentils, chickpeas, beans, forage and in compliance with Bioethics Agriculture. For family needs, we have a permanent vegetable garden and grow the “siccagno” tomato, typical of the area. We also have a small orchard and woodworking equipment. We like to share the preparation and eating of meals, an occasion of conviviality and socialization. The kitchen is used by everyone, the food is preferably self-produced with additions and variations depending on the needs of the guests. Wi Fi is available. The territory is rich in archaeological sites, in the district we have many other sites of historical interest. We want to increase productions for self-consumption and facilitate meetings with people seeking peace and serenity with musicians, artists and artisans. Our aspiration is to live on the farm in the company of cheerful, proposing people who respect the environment. Accommodation in shared room or tent.
We are at 700 meters above sea level, our farm is 1 km from the village which has about 5000 inhabitants and is reachable by train from Palermo in 50 minutes. The beach of Cefalu is about 50 minutes away. We mainly produce extra virgin olive oil and cereals. In 2009 we renovated the rooms for the use of the farm and now they are converted into comfortable apartments. We try to produce quality products and propose a new way of life towards greater environmental sustainability and increased quality of life. The environment is cool and surrounded by a forest that has a unique climate even during the hottest days of the Sicilian summer. In July we organize weekly "summer camps" for groups of up to 20 children aged 7 to 13 years who want to know and learn the activities that take place on a farm. Our intent is to show the younger generations the way to a natural, sustainable way of life, in the country, about the sharing and the love for animals and nature. In July we thresh the grain, make jams and preserves with our fruit and vegetables, in November we harvest the olives and make olive oil in the mill on the farm. Our new projects are: to create a new covered common area, enlarge the chicken coop, build rabbit hutches, we would like to build a platform in a tree. We are happy to accommodate all those who are eager to share with us these projects, creative and proactive people, with experience in the construction field, in the garden. We are able to host people in the summer months from June to September in a private room with bathroom. We like to cook with our own produce and experiment with new dishes in the kitchen.
