Treviso

We, Giampietro and Giuliana, live in Treviso 6 km from the town centre, 5 km from Preganziol Railway Station (30 minutes by train from Venice) and 6 km from the airport Canova of Treviso. We live in a big house and we have a hectare of land cultivated in part as a vegetable garden for home use, an orchard with 50 trees of varying quality, garden, rose garden and a small wood. We also have a chicken house, two dogs and a cat. We practice organic methods for growing vegetables. We have tried in recent years to create a small natural oasis because we live in a fairly rural, but also partly urbanized - especially in recent years- area. We love good company and we like the idea of sharing our home and our land with people who want to offer their experience and learn what we can teach or simply give us a hand in managing our agricultural activity, which although not business purposes, involves a certain commitment. We are also very pleased and interested in hosting guests who are Italians or foreigners who speak English or French to improve or even maintain our language skills and cultural and human exchange. We can offer a room with a double bed in the loft / attic with a separate bathroom on the ground floor. The food is organic and mostly vegetarian. We can lend you a bicycle to explore the area (park of Sile, Venetian Villas, Treviso, Venice) and hiking. We look forward to having environmentally motivated people who, together with us can be engaged on our land and share our love for nature.
We are a couple who, by choice, follow the path towards food self-sufficiency, we have a small farm where we grow vegetables and cereals without the use of chemicals. The farm is followed by Stefano, while Roberta takes care of the kitchen, making preserves and teas. We also hold several courses in collaboration with other associations, all in order to learn how to self-produce food naturally, as well as courses to learn how to recognize and cook wild herbs. We produce fervida, kefir and kombucha and we are happy to share our knowledge. Our farm is located in Salgareda in the province of Treviso, one km from the river Piave, rich in nature trails and cycle paths that reach the sea. We are 35 km from Jesolo beach, one hour from Venice and the nearest art cities are Treviso (19 km) and Oderzo (9 km). The area is served by public transport and we can also provide bicycles. We need help from spring to autumn for sowing, transplanting and harvesting both vegetables and medicinal herbs. And, for those interested, help in the preparation of jams and vegetable sauces. Our knowledge of languages is scholastic but we welcome people of any nationality. We offer an apartment consisting of a kitchen, a bathroom, a 2 bed bedroom and another three-bed room. Animals are welcome. We are omnivorous but with an eye for vegetarian cuisine.
We, Gianna and Miriam (mother and daughter) live in the floodplain of the river Piave where we have our own land of about 2500 square on which we cultivate vegetables, we eat what we grow and from this year we also sell in the small market in town. We have rabbits, hens and 2 dogs. We can accommodate one person who can help with the vegetables - tasks to be arranged according to the needs of the time. We eat together using the produce from the garden and wild herbs (Gianna is very knowledgable about herbs). There will also be free time to visit Venice and Treviso we are midway between the two cities. WWOOFers will have their own large room and you will be welcome also because we believe in exchange of knowledge, we speak Spanish, French, English.
This farm has been going for many years and has always been organic. Over the years there have been important agricultural, social, cultural and artist projects here, now it is a co-housing project where many families live. It is immersed in the countryside and surrounded by woodland, cultivated fields and two small lakes. Our main activity is with growing vegetables (especially Radicchio), caring for the woodland, with the animals (chickens and donkeys) and with teaching and social activities. We are 8 people of varied ages, every couple has their own private space but we have a communal dining room where we eat together and other rooms dedicated to artistic and cultural events. The cohousing began as a response to an individualistic model of society where loneliness seems to be rampant. Our intent is to support each other and to share the daily aspects of life. Accommodation in a room in the house. Help is always welcome with our project. Between all the members of the co housing we can speak English and French well. Meals vegetarian or mixed. We are 3 kms from the town centre and the station of Mogliano Veneto from where you can catch a train to Venice in 20 minutes.
