Summer List
We are a family with two boys, Living and cultivating the land, in an isolated place 6 Km from Assisi in Umbria, on a hill at 600 m, in the natural park of mount Subasio, The farm (30 hectare) is mostly self-sufficient, with: olive trees, orchard, big vegetable garden, small field of lavender, walnuts, reforesting and forest; and animals: sardinian donkeys, bees, dog and cats. Besides the main garden work some of the activities are: drying fruits, seed saving, production of plants and trees from seed and cuttings; pruning of olives, grapes, fruit trees and lavender; cultivation of willows of various colors for making baskets, distillation of essential oils, producing beeswax candles and hand-cream, making bread… Walnut-picking season is September and olives in November. The boys are home-schooled, and they play accordion and organetto (diatonic accordion), In the house there is also a piano and a small library. Our diet is vegetarian, with tendency to vegan. Please respect the place no smoking or alcohol. For the moment we have the possibility to host one person at a time for a minimum period of one week, from March to November. Accommodation: in our house, or in a tent (in summer), bring a sleeping bag. We are part of Sentiero Bioregionale and of the association of basket-makers (Salicevivo); and we participate in farmers markets. Languages spoken: Italian, English and Hebrew.

Francesco (1989). I spent 3 years as a wwoofer and in 2016 I moved from the city and acquired some land. It's a 6ha farm, in the hills. There is woodland, 164 olive trees, a small run down vineyard and grasslands full of orchids. At the centre is the country house. After 20 years of neglect i'm renewing things following common sense and environmental principles. I'd like to cut my living cost and raise my life quality, shrink market presence and maybe leave behind something good! I work on olive trees, plant trees, lose time with the veggie garden and recover the land. I plan to build some greenhouses and get poultry, rabbits, bees and maybe sheep. A small part of the house serves as B&B. A very naturalistic approach allows me to manage everything, alone! Wwoofers backup helps me to do more and to work on ecology, fostering the Wild which i believe is common good. I'm planning water managements and ways to mix the wild habitat with the farm habitat. I try to contribute to local networks. I try not to take myself too seriously! I host no more than 2 wwoofers in a room with shared bath. If you are a family we can make some room. We eat, cook and clean together and i'd like to share my free time with you too. In the kitchen we use little meat and we can adapt our diet for vegetarians and allergy sufferers. The town is 3km away, railway station 6km (or 9km). I try to reply to all emails within a week. Tell me about yourself! I'd like if you plan to stay at least 15 days. I live with my girlfriend and two dogs, if you travel with pets we shall see if they get along. Gay friendly.

This farm was started in 2005 thanks to the enthusiasm of Clelia and Riccardo, both of whom graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture, Clelia from Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and Riccardo - Viticulture and Enology. In the early years of production we have refined our techniques are now offering products that exploit the quality and potential of our land. Clelia Cini organizes coordinates the olive oil production, stirring, expertly, using experience gained at home and knowledge that she acquired at the University. Our farm is organic and we are very careful to respect the environment in which we are situated. The farm covers about 45 hectares of woodland, arable land, vineyard and olive groves. Our main work focuses in the vineyards (about 3.5 ha) and olive trees (about 4 ha). Our main produce is wine and oil. From this year we have also started to produce grape juice and grape jelly. On the farm for the family use we also have a chicken coop, 4 goats (from which after weaning the kids we get milk and make cheese) and raise two pigs a year which we butcher in January. Every year we also have a vegetable garden. We became aware of the WWOOF program from our friends and we were immediately interested, we have always been a hospitable family and like to show our farm to people and share our knowledge and our working days. We look for a a reciprocal exchange in that we can offer our knowledge but we believe that we can also learn much from you!
Summer List

I have this farm of about 7 ha of which 3 are cultivated and the rest is forest, olives are our main crop and we have a vegetable garden, an orchard and a vineyard. The production is strictly (non-certified) organic and we sell our produce directly from the farm. The farm is situated on top of a hill about 6 km from the nearest village where the train station is located. We have a car and trips out depend on the farm activities. Jobs: IN SPRING: tilling the soil, organic fertilizing the plants, planting and preparing for summer the crops, constructing supports for plants, making herbal concoctions (nettle, mares tail), hand weeding, harvesting vegetables, pruning, cutting grass. IN SUMMER: soil tillage for autumn/winter crops, organic fertilization, harvesting vegetables for sale and for making preserves, pest control, harvesting wild fruits & herbs. IN AUTUMN: harvesting vegetables and olives, making preserves, planting early spring crops. IN WINTER: working the land for the next season, pruning the olive trees. Throughout the year I participate in the local markets. Accommodation (maximum 2 or 3 people depending on the season) in a room with private bathroom. We eat all our meals together. In the house we are 2 people, 1 dog and 2 cats. Pets are allowed. We speak only Italian.

We live in a lovely valley in Umbria, 5 km from Magione with all amenities and a train station. The WWOOFers can come with us for shopping or visit other towns but there also is a bicycle to ride to town. We fell in love with Umbria and after a 10 years restoration, we decided to leave the high-tech rat race and shift to a simple and organic life. We now live in a quiet and beautiful area immersed in nature. We have 2 hectares of land with olives trees and currently prepare a large enough vegetable garden. We started a year ago to plant fruit trees. We host guests for vacation in an independent house but now focus on developing the land around us and strive to be self-sufficient for all vegetables and fruits. There is an endless list of projects (1 of the next is setting up a grapevine pergola) but the WWOOFers will be able to help and participate in daily activities on the land (vegetable garden, olive trees care, olive picking and pickling, wood gathering, fruit trees maintenance, planting, plants propagation, finding out how to use our bread oven without burning the bread !) according on the seasons. We hope WWOOFers will learn and experience country-side living but we also hope this will be an exchange, cultural if not agricultural. We can host WWOOFers (one single or a couple) from March to mid-December for periods of 1 to 4 weeks in a bedroom with private bathroom and entrance. Our visitors can enjoy nice walks in the fields and the woods around. We speak English, French and Italian. Welcome!
Summer List
Small farm of about 3 ha surrounded by woods between Orvieto and the lake of Bolsena about 600 m above sea level. The area is particularly rich in biodiversity and is part of an area which has been closed to hunting for forty years. This place is suitable for those who love tranquility, contact with nature and respects her rhythms. The main activities for which help is needed are the following: in the organic vegetable garden with attention to ancient local varieties; we are in the process of creating a synergistic garden. Harvesting fruit and herbs, transplanting trees, pruning etc. Forest maintenance: cleaning and making signs for pathways, collecting firewood and identifying plants at risk of genetic erosion for reproduction by seed, cuttings and transplants. Maintaining the gardens adjacent to the houses (weeding, watering, transplanting, etc.). The farm is actively involved in the protection of animal biodiversity also with the construction of artificial nests, bird feeders and shelters for small wildlife, creating small ponds etc. In this sense it is working on testing a model of low-impact living which is respectful of other life forms. We are happy to host people who do not smoke and are vegetarian. The accommodation provided is in a single room with bathroom (possibly shared by other guests). Medium-long length of stay. Basic English spoken.

Summer List
We - Judith, Fabrizio and little Nathan, come from the Alto Adige and Sicily. We traveled, WWOOFed, and recently we have established ourselves in a large stone farmhouse in the woods between Citta della Pieve and Perugia so we now we can host WWOOFers ourselves! We are on a hill 300m above sea level, surrounded by our 2ha of land with olive trees and woods. We have chosen life in contact with nature because it is in tune with our need for freedom and spirituality. We have a simple lifestyle, we are vegetarians and willingly share meals with wwoofers and our guests. We are sensitive to issues related to: education, food, environment and social aspects. We want to care for and improve the earth and at the same time we enjoy life, we like to dance, sing, play music, laugh, play, meditate. We have never before had a farm and all the activities are at the beginning, such as planting a vegetable garden and orchard, building a solar greenhouse, the earth oven and fences, treating the olive trees, clearing the forest and trails, cutting firewood. We are experimenting with different kinds of organic agriculture, harvest herbs and wild fruits and make teas, creams, oils, dried fruit, jams, juices, detergents, etc. We have friends and tourists who stay here, and do all the maintenance work that the place requires. We do not have animals but we have started with two beehives. We have many other projects in mind…. We can accommodate up to 2 wwoofers or a couple with children, initially for up to a week, in a comfortable double room with bathroom and private entrance, or in a tent. Pets allowed in outdoor areas. We prefer to be contacted by mail with a brief description of who you are and why you want to come to us.

We, husband and wife A. and I. (1978) and Teo (2016), run our organic farm in the foothills of Monti Martani a few kms from Spoleto. Every day we care for our animals: cows, goats, sheep, hens and chickens. We produce mainly extra virgin olive oil and walnuts, a small amount of honey and jams made from our fruit. There is some woodland from which we extract our firewood. There is always plenty to do and every day is different from the previous one. We have plenty of space in our house, we have a dog which lives with us and some cats outside. We speak good Italian, Serbian and English and a little French and Spanish. We do not have WiFi but internet is available at certain times of the day. Food as far as possible is home grown. We can offer single or shared rooms and shared bathroom.

Summer List
We mainly grow vines and also olives, our agricultural methods require a close contact with plants and almost all the processes are done manually. The project was started by 3 friends (Rocco, Simone and Alessandro) who started to run a farm purely because of their love for agriculture and nature. The Farm is located at an altitude of 200-350 m above sea level, a territory historically favored by the Etruscans for viticulture and fruit growing in general. The soils are sandy with subsoil of sandstones and are rich in minerals and sediments left by the ancient Tiberinum lake. We have about 7.5 hectares of vineyards, including 3 hectares of old white grape vineyards planted between 1970 and 1980; the other red grape vineyards were planted between 2005 and 2012. In line with our production philosophy strongly linked to the territory, we cultivate only varieties of indigenous grapes, such as Sangiovese, Grechetto, Trebbiano, Malvasie, Barbera and Sagrantino. The entire farm has been certified by ‘Suolo e Salute’ since 2012 and we practice biodynamic agriculture through the use of herbal teas, 500, 501 and biodynamic compost. We perform the dynamization by hand and spray the preparations with a small copper shoulder pump. We sow leguminous plants and other species between the rows of vines to nourish the soil and stimulate biodiversity. We follow the biodynamic calendar of the lunar cycles and constellations for working the land, for sowing and for decanting in the cellar.
