Lingue parlate: inglese, francese, tedesco. ****************************** Bettina runs a small organic farm of less than 7 hectares in Abruzzo, in the Pescara hills. Born in Switzerland, she mainly takes care of the farm. The husband, born in Northern Italy, teaches at the University. Two dogs and four cats also live with us. We live 30 minutes from the sea and 40 minutes from the mountains, and 2 km from Loreto Aprutino, a small medieval village. We live in a strawbale house with avwooden frame. We heat with the wood obtained from the pruning of our trees. We cultivate the vegetable garden, 300 olive trees and 300 young fruit trees in the greatest respect for the environment. We are in an initial phase of reforestation (hedge, edible forest) and soil regeneration (mixed grassland). We are not mechanized and we intervene as little as possible in Nature's work. We are vegans for ethical and environmental reasons. We offer vegan cooking classes. The work is varied: cultivation of the vegetable garden, maintenance of the trees, the land and the house, transformation of products (jams, juices, drying of vegetables and fruit, preserves). The accommodation is in the house. For those who wish to, or when there are several people, you can pitch a tent. Languages spoken: English, French, German. Certificazioni: ICEA Progetti attuali: Fruits ,Teaching activities,Preserving produce,Olives,Building/maintenance,Vegetables Accesso a Internet disponibile

Incredible time on Frutti d’Oro! Had the most peaceful, exciting, hard working and unique experiences. Stayed with Bettina, Enrico, family and friends for 7 days. Unfortunately missed the olive harvesting due to my travel constraints but Bettina made sure to keep us active and taught us how to make vegan Nutella, quince jam, grape juice, pizza, fresh pasta and more in addition to us helping around the farm by clearing olive tree stakes, picking fruit trees, and pruning and clearing fruit trees. This was my first time WWOOFing and I would gladly return again! 10/10 experience, extremely communicative host, great balance of active and down time, delicious vegan food, and truly an Italian paradise!

My stay at Frutti d’Oro was absolutely wonderful. I had a really great time there and enjoyed it very much. We were a fantastic team of WWOOFers and besides the extremely interesting work during the olive harvest, we cooked, ate, went on excursions, talked and played games together... Bettina is a great host, incredibly warm-hearted and attentive. She made sure to provide us all with good experiences while considering the needs of each individual. I learned a lot; it was a good mix of work, movement, new experiences, activities, and relaxation.

I had a wonderful stay at Frutti d’Oro. Bettina and Enrico are knowledgeable, caring, and easy to communicate with. I learned a lot about the process of olive oil making and had a lovely time getting to know the other WWOOFers. There was a good balance of hard work, rest time, and l excursions (hiking, swimming, visiting local museums). I felt that my work was appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed the harvest - it’s very rewarding work and we were a good team :) Accommodation was very comfortable and food was delicious!

My stay at Frutti d'Oro was my first WWOOF-experience...and it was a very very great time. Bettina and her husband are very friendly and heartful hosts. We were a very heterogenous wwoofing-group (four nations/languages, ages between 19 to 60), but Bettina managed it that we all felt very comfortable, like a big family. We worked, lived, laughed, joked, cooked, baked & ate together. We always had enough space and time for ourself if we were in need for that. We learned a lot about how to produce olive oil, the criteria to recognize a good olive oil, biological farming and a vegan way-of-life. Bettina has a very profound knowlegde about veganism and healthy nutrition. I enjoyed it very much to talk with her about various issues. She inspired me and gave me good & deep input which will definetly last longer than my stay at her place (round about 3 weeks). I will return again next year...which is the result of my positive experience I made there. Thank you very much...grazie di tutto.

Gratitude...

I wanted to have a different experience with olive harvesting, and that's why I decided to apply to go to Bettina and Enrico's house and spend an incredible ten days with them. How could I describe my stay in a few words? I think I'm going to use more than a few words: new ways of seeing life, rethinking some decisions or habits, learning a lot, meeting incredible people (plus it was my first stay sharing a house with more woofers, with me being another woofer) both local and foreign, having time to enjoy the beautiful province of Abruzzo, etc. I enjoyed every moment of this stay. Although I always thought about becoming a vegetarian, I never thought about veganism, and seeing how well Bettina cooks, my opinion changed. Also the exercise sessions with Enrico were great, spending time with the animals (which I really love), the board game nights and, especially, sitting at the table and eating together. Thank you for the opportunity to have me. I hope to see you again soon :) A big hug, Pau.
