****************************** My name is Giandomenico my farm is located in the high plains of Vicenza near the pre-Alpine area, Monte Pasubio, Asiago plateau, can be reached from the railway station of Vicenza, with the bus in 30 minutes. I live with my partner, I have 3 dogs, 3 cats and 12 hens. I've been cultivating with organic methods for 25 years now, I produce apples, pears, plums, apricots, ancient cereals of local varieties, I transform my grains into flour and bread, I transform a small part of the apples into juices, I sell all my products directly, through markets, or from the farm. It is the third year that I enrolled in Wwoof, I consider it as well as an important help for me, a unique human experience. People are housed in my house, in a large attic with bathroom, the dining room instead is shared among all. Generally those who visit my farm help me mainly with harvesting fruit, with the thinning of the fruit, harvesting and drying of the wheat, weeding and the tending the vegetable garden and selling at the markets and many other interesting jobs that need to be done on the farm. I speak French and my partner speaks English, as well as Italian and the dialect Progetti attuali: Fruits ,Preserving produce,Vegetables

I stayed with Gian Domenico for almost a month, and I’m really happy that I chose this place. The room I stayed in was very comfortable, and they truly did everything they could to make me feel at home. I ate amazing food during my stay — Maria makes absolutely incredible pasta! And I completely fell in love with their dog, Theo. This is a big farm where you can learn so many different things. You would be surprised by how much you can learn here. We worked on the farm, and sometimes we also went to markets to sell products, where I had the chance to meet wonderful people. I’m going to miss everyone a lot. In short, they are amazing hosts, and if I ever come back, I would definitely stay with you again. Take care and thank you for everything!

GianDomenico’s farm in Isola Vicentina was lovely to live in, work on, and learn about the relationship humans should have between what we consume and the earth. Despite the language barrier, I had immensely insightful conversations with both GianDomenico and Luisa. The home cooked meals were also immensely healthy, and working on the farm was very well paced. I will miss the farm very much, and I love their friendly dog Teo!!

We spent an amazing and insightful two weeks with GianDomenico and his partner Luisa who went above and beyond to make our stay as lovely as possible. From working on GianDomenico’s farm, I learnt more about the different types of grains and how they are harvested and collected to be made into daily food staples like rice and pasta, which I have rarely questioned how they end up at our markets. Aside being able to physically witness and participate in the collection and sorting of the grains, I learnt a lot about our relationship with food through educational conversations with GianDomenico and Luisa over their delicious home cooked meals. This experience has truly altered the way I perceive and consume food products. Alongside the farming, GianDo and Luisa were lovely hosts who would often pick us up from and drive us to the bus station without fail on our days off. They were always giving the best recommendations for each towns and making sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. And most of all, their dog Teo was the cutest and made our stay unforgettable! Thank you GianDo, Luisa, & Teo for the memorable experience which I will treasure for a long time :)

These two weeks spent with GianDomenico and Luisa was truly an extremely unforgettable experience for me. From day one, I felt welcomed into their beautiful home and way of life. Tasks on the farm were varied and meaningful, giving me the chance to learn about the various organic wheats, gardening, and sustainable living as a whole, which is something that I don’t get to experience in Singapore. But what I’ll remember most are the shared meal times, delicious home-cooked meals prepared by Luisa, warm conversations about life and culture, and moments of connection that made me feel like part of the family. Their kindness, patience, and openness made this not just a farm stay, but a deeply enriching and grounding experience. Despite the language barrier and the need to use google translate to understand each other, both GianDomenico and Luisa were extremely patient in communicating with us. Thank you for everything! I’m truly grateful for the time I spent with you both, and I’ll carry these memories with me always.

My family (parent and two adult children) had a rich and memorable experience with GianDomenico and Luisa. We learned about cultivating ancient and genetically diverse grains and also about fostering a thriving local agriculture community of millers and bakers who use that grain and customers who appreciate it. We enjoyed a comfortable room in their home and lunches and dinners together with their own or local ingredients and interesting conversations. We appreciated GianDomenico’s patience as we relied on google translate a lot. Luisa was also very generous with helping translate. Our hosts were also generous with driving us to the closest town to catch the bus.
