Fattoria biologica ai piedi del Gran Sasso
Pescara

The farm was born from the idea of myself, Francesca and my husband Christopher, French, 8 years ago when kidnapped by the beauty of this land we decided to settle here on my grandfather's land (about 5 hectares of which one of woodland) and start a path of autonomy by producing what we ate. So began our passion for agriculture and breeding that led us to the creation of an organic farm. Leonardo 7 years old, Pietro 3 years old ans Olivio 7 months old joited us in this adventure. In the farm there is a small breeding of pigs (we dedicate the months of December and January to the processing of meat according to traditional methods), sheep (about 20 heads), many different poultry for the production of eggs and meat. We take care of 5 hives. Next to this we have one synergistic vegetable gardens, we grow spelt; we take care of an olive grove of about 100 plants and fruit trees that surround the house.
we go every week to deliver our products in town.
We work the land without using any chemical substances, we try to leave the animals as free as possible and we respect their natural cycles.
The farm is in the middle of the countryside but a 10 min walk away you can take the means to move around and visit other places in our beautiful region. We ask the wwoofers to collaborate in all the seasonal activities related to the farm but also in activities such as the maintenance of the facilities or the collection of wood. We prefer periods of stay of at least two weeks. Couples are welcome. The accommodation is in a room of the house with a common bathroom, but those who wish can stay in a tent and in this case there is a dry toilet.

October 2025
I came to Rural Resilience in a peak period where Francesca and Christopher were harvesting olives and butchering some of their animals for their local clients. So my co-woofer and I could be very useful in helping out with the kids, the animals and their 'laboratorio'. I even could fulfill their wish to have a promotion video for their social media (I am a filmmaker). But above all, they are extremely nice and interesting people that taught me a lot about their farm practice and made me feel at home. Thanks a million, guys!

May 2025
We spent four weeks on the farm with Francesca and Chris and their three young boys. They were a very welcoming family. From the balcony near our room there were breathtaking views of snow capped mountains in the distance. There were views of the Adriatic Sea. It was our first WWOOFing experience. My wife and I collected and cleaned eggs every day. I would take care of the sheep and lambs. We helped with the new pony and also with tending the peacocks and pigeons.
We took our meals with the family. There was always plenty of delicious organic food. I especially like the fresh squeezed orange juice from the organic oranges from Sicily and was sad when the season for the oranges came to an end. Pasta was made from farro that was grown on the farm. We would help with meal preparation and cleanup.
We would help with the weekly order preparation for their customers. We learned how to harvest, pluck, and dress chickens. We also helped with making sausage from the black pigs.
Francesca and Chris wish to expand their operation to include Glamping and we assisted in some phases of the construction of a new building.
We were very fortunate to have met such a kind and caring family who take a lot of pride in the organic food they produce and serve to their customers and family.
We had time to explore the surrounding towns
I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was on the farm. We would highly recommend this farm for a WWOOFing experience.

February 2025
GRAZIE frà e cri, torneremo molto volentieri a trovarvi
Speriamo presto.

December 2024
I had an amazing experience with Francesca, Christopher and their wonderful children. It was inspiring to see the care and skill they put into raising their meat, and I was so grateful to be part of processing pork for their customers before the holidays! Thank you for everything, I hope our paths cross again sometime!

My stay at the fattoria Rurale Resilience was a true life experience. I was part of the family for these two weeks and I learned and experienced so many things. The fattoria of Christopher and Francesca is really nice, you will have the occasion to take care of the animals, feed them every morning, collect the eggs at the end of te day. You will also be part of the preparation of the orders, preparing the chickens, the hens, meet etc. You will for sure not be bored.
And if you find time to get in the house you will meet their lovely children Leonardo, Pietro and Olivio that are really fun and love playing outside or with legos !
Grazie familia and see you soon.

I was welcomed with open arms and warmly welcomed into the family. I liked the work, especially the meat production, such as sausages, hamburgers, etc. I was also allowed to try my hand at soap production. The farm is beautifully situated next to the mountains, a place to feel good!
