--- This is a small family farm on the hills of Piacenza. We practice organic agriculture in old vineyards and produce natural wine. According to the season you can live the different works in the vines: from pruning to green processing to the harvest and you can participate in the care of the family garden and farmyard animals, during the summer to the fruit harvests and possible transformation for home use. We live about 4km from the town in a very beautiful area both in terms of landscape and for the still very lively and differentiated nature.

For our first wwoofing experience, Barbara’s place was perfect! We work in the vineyard and did multiple tasks where we’ve learn a lot. They accommodate your schedule according to the weather which is really nice from them. They are passionate about their wine which is amazing! We were lucky enough to participate in friends and family gatherings so we really felt included and welcomed. We were sad to leave. Once again thank you very much to everyone!

What a lovely stay. Located in such a beautiful location with amazing views. Work is fulfilling and the family is welcoming and lovely. Barbera, Paolo and Nicola were very accommodating and really felt included in the various work. Will definitely go back. Couldn’t have had a better experience. They really care about their work and wine they create.

Ottima esperienza, mi sono trovato bene. Barbara e sempre stata disponibile, accogliente e sensibile alle mie esigenze.

I enjoyed spending time with Nico and the other woofers. Unfortunately the living accommodations were not very clean, which resulted in one of the multiple issues that caused tension with the host. I made a lot of good memories at the farm but ended up leaving early.

My time at Filarole started off well, although the sleeping arrangements were a little dirty, everything was tolerable and I had a great time hanging out in town with Niccola (their son) and the other woofers. I was hungry some days, but my communication about my needs was always listened to and respected. This changed however when Barbara left for a trip, we started getting many insect bites at night all over our bodies. We attempted to remedy the situation ourselves, vacuuming and cleaning every surface in the room. At this point, I had so many bites all over my arms and legs that I couldn't bear to sleep in the room anymore in fear of possible bed bugs. I let Barbara know about our situation as soon as I realized that it wasn't a personal allergic reaction, rather a communal issue. She responded by blaming me for panicking all of the other woofers, as one of us decided to leave early to avoid bring bed bugs around on the rest of her travels. Not only that, while she was gone no one bought food for all of us, so one of their family friends drove us to the store to buy food and told me I would be paid back. I asked for my money back before I left and was guilted and questioned thoroughly. Our goodbye to Barbara, the other woofer and I, was her slamming the money in my hand without a word and driving off angrily. The house is not fit to host woofers, moldy mattresses, mold on the walls, and with Barbara acting disrespectfully and irresponsibly, it's intolerable for woofers.

You are a good boy, really. But what you write is not fair if you don't also tell of your behaviour, of the mess i found when i arrived from my (work not holidays) trip, of the food that i had to through away because you had chosen to buy different one, of your departure organization that did not include saying goodbye to me. I would not have complained about all this (and not even about the mess and the not cleaning) because I understand that you are a young not much experienced boy. But I am forced to write here since you do. Moreover: no bugs were found in the room. I wish you a nice European travel.
