* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Farm Ca' Inua Ca' Inua is a small family-run farm on the foothills of the Bolognese Apennines surrounded by woods. It is at 700 meters above sea level, 10 km from the town of Marzabatto and about 50 km from Bologna. There is no public transport in the immediate vicinity; the nearest bus can be taken in the village of Montepastore, which can be reached with a nice walk of about 40 minutes. Ludovico and Alessandra are very available to come and pick you up and take you back to the nearest train station and obviously to do so also in the case in which you would like to organize one or more trips during your stay. On the other hand, you will be immersed in a powerful Nature, with the possibility of taking long and nourishing walks and enjoying the cool and silence of the woods. However, there will be no shortage of opportunities for meetings and socializing, especially in the summer when in Ca'Inua there are always people coming and going! Alessandra and Ludovico are an artistic cooperative and the farm was created as a relational work of art . The care of the land, water, plants and animals are the fulcrum of the farm activities, in organic and regenerative agriculture and in hospitality. We live here with Gea and Flora, our 9 and 4 year old girls (please apply only if you like children because otherwise it could be a bit heavy!), Sheeta the dog and Kiki and Ponyo, the cats. The reconnection with Mother Earth is the basis of all Ca'Inua's activity. Taking care of the land, water, plants and animals (bees, chickens, dogs and cats) is the fulcrum of (organic) agricultural activities and hospitality. Offering the opportunity to listen is what guides our actions in every area. From an agricultural point of view, Ca'Inua hosts a mixed orchard planted on keylines, an ancient fruit chestnut grove undergoing cultivation restoration, a vegetable garden, small fruits and aromatic plants. In addition to the plants, we are accompanied by some laying hens for our own consumption. We recover all the water from the house, with a self-built phytopurification system, and rainwater from the roof slopes. We design taking into account the principles of permaculture. In addition to agriculture, we provide hospitality in rooms and outdoors, organize courses and community activities in the area, create artistic projects linked to the reconnection with Mother Earth and offer moments of inner listening through the relationship with the wild. Organic methods: Use of Compost, use of actual self-produced microorganisms; manual control of parasites and spontaneous weeds; water collection and management; we are converting our approach from organic to biodynamic. Current projects: - Agriculture: conversion of the company's organic structure to biodynamic; design and construction of the new vegetable garden; design and construction of lavender plant; ordinary maintenance of mixed orchards, small fruits, chestnut groves and green areas. - Forestry: we are restoring an old fruit chestnut grove. - Management of the forest: maintenance of paths and creation of spaces for activities in the forest. - Relationships with the Wild: we collect spontaneous herbs that we transform with the spagyric method, we are setting up a base camp in the woods where we carry out various practices and activities of reconnection and inner listening; we are training as bushcraft and natural environment survival instructors. - Self-construction: final phases of the construction of a Mongolian yurt and its appurtenances; creation of pitches for tents in the chestnut grove. - Art: we organize and conduct participation practices in nature and awareness and reconnection projects with Mother Earth.

I've spent the past week at Ludovico's and Alessandra's farm and the week was really amazing. Even though we were there just a few days we had a lot of different interesting jobs and learned much about the farm and ways of ecological farming. The landscape and mountains were beautiful and very nice for hiking. I would love to go there again and would recommend this experience to everyone!

I had an absolutely amazing time at Ludovico’s and Alessandra’s farm! From the moment I arrived, his family made me feel so welcome and part of their home. They are kind, generous, and full of great stories — it was a joy to share meals and laughter with them. The food was perfect: fresh and incredibly delicious. The work was fulfilling and well-balanced, giving me the chance to learn new skills while enjoying the beautiful surroundings and great weather. Every day felt peaceful and rewarding. The hike around the mountains was also an incredible touch. I couldn’t have asked for a better WWOOFing experience and would recommend this farm to anyone looking for a genuine, warm, and enriching stay. Thank you for everything — I hope to come back one day!

I spent two wonderful weeks with the family, and everyone was incredibly welcoming and open. I stayed in a beautiful yurt, which made the experience even more special. My tasks were very diverse—some days I helped in the chestnut forest, other days I took care of the chickens, and on a few occasions we worked on a treehouse for their daughter. We always ate together, often joined by friends, and I quickly felt like part of the family. The area where they live is stunning, and Bologna is not far away either. I can wholeheartedly recommend staying with Alessandra and Ludovico, and I would happily visit them again.

I really enjoyed this first wwoofing experience in Ludovico's farm ! We slept in a bright yurt and had access to a compost toilet and a outdoor shower private for wwoofers. On a rainy day we enjoyed a hot shower in their house. This stay was a real cultural exchange, we discover a lot about the local gastronomy and culture. All the familiy is really welcoming. We also had some free days to visit Bologna and the neighborhoods. It was really great to be able to plan our work at the beginning of the stay even though it had to change a bit since agriculture activities can be unpredictable.
