Ogni giorno cerchiamo di migliorare un aspetto del nostro vivere qui perché sia il più sostenibile possibile.
Cerchiamo di condividere le nostre riflessioni ecologiche con chi vive con noi, arricchendole per tutti.
La transizione richiede fatica, impegno e ingegno, ma anche costanza e tenacia.
Tra i nostri progetti: compostaggio, permacultura, allevamento galline e maiali, foodforest, riduzione degli imballaggi e dei rifiuti, etc…
Siamo abbastanza vicino al mare (2km) e ai trekking che si possono fare in zona.
La nostra proprietà è servita dai mezzi pubblici.
Si possono facilmente raggiungere siti di interesse storico e culturale.
Metodi organici: Dal 2020 abbiamo intrapreso un cammino di sostenibilità e stiamo progressivamente organizzando la nostra proprietà e sperimentando varie tecniche, ispirandoci ai principi della permacultura.
Non usiamo pesticidi o fertilizzanti di sintesi, ma non sempre riusciamo ad evitare gli input non biologici (mangimi, terriccio per il semenzaio,...)
Progetti attuali: Abbiamo un piccolo stormo di galline libere che ci forniscono le uova di cui abbiamo bisogno.
Abbiamo maiali liberi in un grande spazio che nutriamo con farina e molti scarti vegetali del mercato locale. Ogni giorno andiamo a prenderli con le nostre bici elettriche.
Abbiamo un "orto elementare", e a breve avvieremo un orto "no-dig".
Su alcune parcelle abbiamo seminato il sovescio e stiamo convertendo l'agrumeto in una food forest più biodiversa.
Stiamo facendo i primi tentativi di coltivazione di grano e mais, e legumi di diverso tipo da conservare.
Per ridurre il nostro consumo di combustibili fossili, realizzeremo un biodigestore, dei pannelli solari termici e delle stufe a legna.
Il lavoro è….
quotidiano (generalmente cura degli animali),
stagionale (orto e frutteto),
straordinario (realizzazione di nuovi progetti di coltivazione, di transizione anche della casa, lavori straordinari nella terra)

Every day we try to improve one aspect of our lives here so that it is as sustainable as possible.
We try to share our ecological thoughts with those who live with us, enriching these for everyone.
Transition requires effort, commitment and resourcefulness, but also perseverance and tenacity.
Our projects include: composting, permaculture, raising chickens and pigs, foodforest, reducing packaging and waste, etc.
We are quite close to the sea (2km) and to the trekking that can be done in the area.
Our property is served by public transportation.
You can easily reach sites of historical and cultural interest.
Organic methods: Since 2020 we have been on a journey of becoming sustainable and are gradually organizing our property and experimenting with various techniques, inspired by permaculture principles.
We do not use pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, but we are not always able to avoid non-organic inputs (feed, seedbed soil,...)
Current projects: We have a small flock of free-range hens that provide the eggs we need.
We have free-range pigs in a large space that we feed with flour and many vegetable scraps from the local market. Every day we pick them up on our electric bikes.
We have an "elementary garden," and will soon start a "no-dig" garden.
On some plots we have sown green manure and are converting the citrus grove into a more biodiverse food forest.
We are making first attempts at growing wheat and corn, and different kinds of legumes for storage.
To reduce our consumption of fossil fuels, we will make a biodigester, solar thermal panels and wood stoves.
