Siamo Duha, Ilaria e i piccoli Django e Nil. Viviamo in una zona collinare e campagnola della città di Genova. Coltiviamo e vendiamo ortaggi biologici su piccola scala e ci orientiamo al modello Market Garden.
Al momento la nostra casa dista 20 minuti dalla fattoria perché stiamo ancora lavorando alla casa che sarà accanto all'orto...
Al momento ospitiamo i Woofers in casa con noi. Mettiamo a disposizione il necessario per colazione e pranzo e ceniamo insieme.
A seconda del periodo in cui arriverete potrete aiutarci in qualsiasi attività inerente all' agricoltura. Preparazione terreno/ trasporto letame/ semina/raccolto/diserbare/ pacciamatura/ potature/ talee/preparazione cassette per i clienti e molto altro. Stiamo anche lavorando alla ristrutturazione della casa nuova e potreste anche aiutarci in quei lavori in base alle vostre capacità e alle esigenze del momento.
Il lavoro in campagna può sembrare romantico dall esterno ma nella pratica è faticoso, fisico, ripetitivo e spesso in condizioni metereologiche difficoltose, d'inverno al freddo e sotto la pioggia e d'estate al caldo e sotto il sole, ci si alza presto al mattino... Vorremmo che chi decida di venire da noi sia preparato ad affrontare le difficoltà con piacere. Chiediamo partecipazione nella preparazione dei pasti e nel riordinare a fine pasto. Abbiamo una dieta principalmente vegetariana.
Le attività si svolgono generalmente durante la mattina, iniziando alle 7 oppure alle 8. Solitamente facciamo le attività al mattino per permettere ai Wwoofer di fare gite nel pomeriggio.
Ci aiuterete nella realizzazione di un progetto ancora giovane e siamo molto desiderosi e felici di poterlo condividere con altre persone interessate. Duha vi insegnerà tanto sulle tecniche di market garden e di agricoltura sostenibile su piccola scala. Ci fa piacere ricevere stimoli nuovi da persone che vengono da altri posti e portano con sé esperienze diverse dalle nostre.
Chiediamo una permanenza di due settimane per poter entrare nel flusso della nostra vita quotidiana senza correre!
Vorremmo che i Wwoofer che vengono da noi siano spinti principalmente dalla passione e la curiosità per l'agricoltura e dalla voglia di partecipare ad un piccolo progetto di agricoltura sostenibile. Non chiediamo solo cinque ore di lavoro ma anche l'entusiasmo ed il sorriso (quando possibile) nel suo svolgimento.
Siamo in posizione molto strategica perché in città, per cui potrete trovare modo d muovervi ed esplorare liberamente ma al contempo in un contesto completamente campagnolo, immerso nel verde. C'è il mare e ci sono le montagne, ci sono possibilità infinite di fare escursioni di ogni tipo e saremo felici di farle insieme se il tempo permette e sennò di darvi consigli e indicazioni.

We are Duha, Ilaria and little Django and Nil. Our farm is in the city of Genova still on a hill in a green and rural area. We are building our market garden farm. We sell organic vegetables that we grow with a low-tillage approach. The land we cultivate is at 20 min from our home.
We host Woofers at home with us and share dinner together. We provide breakfast and lunch which are independent moments.
We ask Woofers to participate in preparing meals and cleaning after the meal.
Our diet is mainly vegetarian.
Depending on the time you arrive the tasks will obviously vary: from preparing the soil to building structures (compost toilet, kitchen, greenhouse)/transporting manure/ seeding/transplanting/ harvesting/ curing the plants/ weeding/ transforming food / preparing boxes for clients and much more. We also might be working on our new home and need your help with that kind of work.
Countryside work might seem romantic from far away but in reality it means waking up early in the morning and doing hard, tiring and repetitive physical work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, rain etc. If you decide to do this experience you should be prepared and willing to approach such difficulties with positivity . We ask WWOOFer's to do the activities usually during the morning, starting at 7 or 8 am . Sundays are free.
We want wwoofers come to us moved by the desire and the passion for an agricultural experience, for learning or just for participating in the creation of a sustainable farm project. We wish that wwoofers approach the work with enthusiasm and joy even if it might be hard. The agricultural experience should be the main reason to come and stay with us.
We are happy to open our home to new energies and share with you our daily life and our plans and dreams.
We ask for a stay of two weeks in order to get into the flow' of our daily life without rush.
Duha will be happy to tell you a lot about market garden, no-dig techniques, hand tools, companion plants and whatever you will be concerned with.

Our location is ideal for many kinds of excursions. Maybe we will go to have lunch and relax in the beach in sunny days or you can make also longer excursions exploring coast and mountainside around Genoa or the city itself. We are happy to give you advice for nice excursions.
