Hi, we are Carlo (1993) and Giada (1995) and together with our parents Armando and Karin we run a small organic farm in the hills between Florence and Arezzo, in Tuscany. On our land we produce limited quantities of wine and organic olive oil as well as growing fruit and vegetables to support our families, while we sell the surplus production to a local farmers' market. In the future we want to have our own chicken and maybe some other animals.
We love nature and like to respect it and stay in contact with it. Giada is a tireless reader and loves running: she is preparing to participate in her first marathon. Carlo is a dreamer, loves long walks in the mountains and is passionate about technology. Karin is an artist and owns a pottery workshop where she makes small sculptures and offers pottery courses. Armando, on the other hand, is an all-rounder, very interested in the world of plants and always curious about how things work.
The work in the fields is always very varied, ranging from pruning, weeding and managing the land to harvesting fruits and vegetables. Of course we will need help during the two harvests, the olives and the grapes. Sometimes some jobs require medium physical effort while many others are simple.
We all speak English and German, but we will be very happy to teach you some Italian and maybe also learn your language!
A typical day depends very much on the time of year, there can be days with several small jobs or days where the focus is one, such as at the most beautiful time of the year, the grape harvest. Most of the work will be done outdoors, so we always recommend wearing sun cream, a hat and protective clothing in summer.
We want to share our agricultural knowledge, traditional and otherwise, with everyone who shows an interest as we believe in sharing knowledge and exchanging information.
We are looking for WWOOFers who can stay at least two weeks, perfect if you want to learn some Italian, some techniques and a lot more from our farm life. We offer a bedroom with bathroom and kitchen and big garden to chill out. We will provide you groceries to cook your own meals, and lunch during the week will be together with our family. Occasionally we might even escape for an apéritif or a hike at the weekend ;-)
Our house is located in the Upper Arno Valley, between Florence and Arezzo only a few km from the nearest town. The place is really nice and not crowded at all. Nearby there are many forests and many possibilities for hiking and small treks. The train station is 10 minutes away by car and can also be reached by public transport. From here you can go to Florence, Arezzo and many other places in just 30 minutes.
P.S. We are cat lovers, so at any time you can find some of our cats around, such as Dante, Virgilio, Libero and others!

Ciao, siamo Carlo (classe 1993) e Giada (classe 1995) e, insieme ai nostri genitori Armando e Karin, gestiamo una piccola azienda agricola biologica sulle colline tra Firenze e Arezzo, proprio qui in Toscana. Sui nostri terreni produciamo piccole quantità di vino e olio d'oliva certificato biologico, e coltiviamo frutta e verdura per le nostre famiglie. La produzione in eccesso la vendiamo a un mercato agricolo locale. In futuro vorremmo avere anche le nostre galline e magari qualche altro animale.
Amiamo la natura e ci piace rispettarla e starci a contatto. Giada è un'instancabile lettrice e adora correre: si sta preparando per partecipare alla sua prima maratona. Carlo è un sognatore, ama le lunghe passeggiate in montagna ed è appassionato di tecnologia. Karin è un'artista e possiede un laboratorio di ceramica dove realizza piccole sculture e offre corsi. Armando, invece, è un tuttofare, molto interessato al mondo delle piante e sempre curioso di capire come funzionano le cose.
Il lavoro nei campi è sempre molto vario, va dalla potatura, alla pulizia delle erbacce, alla gestione dei terreni, fino alla raccolta di frutta e verdura. Naturalmente avremo bisogno di aiuto durante le due grandi raccolte: quella delle olive e quella dell'uva. A volte alcune attività richiedono uno sforzo fisico medio, mentre molte altre sono semplici.
Parliamo tutti inglese e tedesco, ma saremo felicissimi di insegnarti un po' di italiano e magari di imparare anche la tua lingua!
La giornata tipo dipende molto dal periodo dell'anno. Ci sono giorni con tanti piccoli lavoretti o giorni in cui ci si concentra su una sola attività, come nel momento più bello dell'anno, la vendemmia. Gran parte del lavoro si svolge all'aperto, per questo consigliamo sempre di portare creme solari, un cappello e vestiti protettivi in estate.
Vogliamo condividere le nostre conoscenze agricole, sia quelle tradizionali sia quelle più recenti, con chiunque mostri interesse, perché crediamo nella condivisione del sapere e nello scambio di informazioni.
Cerchiamo WWOOFer che possano restare per almeno due settimane. È l'ideale se desideri imparare qualche tecnica agricola e molto altro sulla nostra vita in fattoria. Offriamo un piccolo appartamento con camera da letto, bagno e una cucina per cucinare i tuoi pasti; il pranzo durante la settimana sarà in compagnia della nostra famiglia. Ogni tanto potremmo anche scappare per un aperitivo o una camminata nel fine settimana ;-)
La nostra proprietà si trova nell'Alto Valdarno, tra Firenze e Arezzo, a pochi chilometri dal paese più vicino. Il posto è davvero incantevole e per nulla affollato. Nelle vicinanze ci sono molti boschi e tante possibilità per escursioni e piccoli trekking. La stazione ferroviaria è a 10 minuti di macchina e si può raggiungere anche con i mezzi pubblici. Da qui si può arrivare a Firenze, Arezzo e molti altri luoghi in soli 30 minuti.
