We are Isa and Carlos. We have started a community project to become self-sufficient in food production and exchange knowledge and products with those around us and those who participate in the project with us.
We are familiar with permaculture.
In Shangri-La, the roosters and the sun mark the passing of time. After a good coffee and breakfast, we start the day by focusing on the most important tasks, which sometimes include tidying up the wood, cutting the grass, picking fruit or preparing lunch or dinner, the latter two being important moments here in terms of food quality and the experience of sharing. We are a family and, as a family, we like to welcome people.
We are renovating a yoga room and other spaces using bio-architecture and coccio pesto in specific.
At the moment, we have created two ponds to manage a spring, three vegetable gardens for growing vegetables, and we take care of the woods by collecting wood for heating.
We have two friends who take care of the bees, always using organic methods.
We currently have a chicken coop with five hens and three cats.
Carlos's eight-year-old son also lives with us.
We start from seeds to produce seedlings for planting, using natural farming techniques with mulching and microorganisms.
We also take care of the hazelnut grove, removing suckers at an early stage.
There is also a small orchard and we would like to plant a few rows of vines.
Most of the time we share meals, but we provide the kitchen and equipment to prepare meals on your own if needed.
We have a wooden carriage that is insulated and heated with water, which we make available. The facilities are in the main house, a few metres away.
We play music among ourselves and with other friends, we like to watch films and listen to music or interesting documentaries.
We love making pasta with ancient grains and spelt, baking simple cakes and bread every week.
