Hello. I'm an American / Malaysian who owns a organic lavender farm in the heart of Tuscany, Italy. I'm new to the farming industry. I started my farm with my late companion, Valter. I can offer you the experience of learning and living to cultivate lavender. Also, my farm will soon be a farm-stay vacation rental. My farm's daily activities include landscaping, gardening, and lavender field care. The work is based on the season. In spring, the weeds must be removed from the lavender field. The soil needs to be tilled, and the lavender plants must be trimmed. Seeding and preparing the vegetable garden for planting also take place in spring. We will harvest lavender in June and July and distill essential oil. We harvest olives to make our own oil in the fall. Also, firewood must be prepared in the fall, and planting and landscaping are necessary. With my background as a Malaysian, I will offer my Woofer a wide range of food, a fusion of Italian, American, and Asian food. I enjoy cooking, and the woofer will eat well. I have worked as a Children's Fashion designer in NYC for 30+ years. I'm also an artist who makes pottery and paints. Music is also my interest, so I play acoustic guitar. We thoroughly enjoyed our week on the farm with Juna and the other wwoofers. She was very welcoming from the start and provided everything we could have needed and more. We were grateful for the opportunity to harvest lavender alongside others so that we could contribute to the distilling of lavender oil and learn about the process. We also were able to assist in gardening and run other errands when needed. Juna was also very conscious of the high temperatures and this was taken into account, ensuring we were able to work safely. We had ample time and opportunities to explore the surrounding area which provided us with a well-rounded and local experience.

It was my first wwoofing experience at Juna’s farm and I had an amazing experience. Juna is a really inspiring person that stays true to her beliefs and is always positive and cheerful. She has a really beautiful farm that has a vegetable garden, multiple varieties of lavender, lots of very tall sunflowers and a really adorable australian cattle dog, Bodhi. He is a playful and energetic dog that is a great companion to have around the farm. Juna was very welcoming and I felt very at home while at her farm. We visited a local music festival and also went to a nearby waterfall when the weather got too hot. I felt that Juna really tries to involve wwoofers in her daily life. The waterfall was really pretty and I had a fun time there, especially trying to get Bodhi to learn to swim. The work I did during my time at the farm was mainly harvesting lavender, and any other small tasks that Juna needed help with around the farm. I also really loved how the smell of lavender fills the air around the farm. Juna is also really reasonable in the amount of work she gives wwoofers and is very understanding. Juna is also great at cooking and there was always fresh vegetables and fruits from the garden.

Juna is a very laid back, joyful, strong woman who has created a magical place in the beautiful hills of Tuscany. I felt welcomed from the first moment I have arrived and loved the diverse range of work in and outside her created paradise. Among several tasks, we also cooked together, my great passion, which I thoroughly enjoyed. In addition to her beautifully laid-out vegetable garden, there are also the wonderfully fragrant lavender bushes, from which, amongst other things, a deliciously scented oil is produced handmade. Juna has a wealth of knowledge, which she applies with a playful touch to everything that country life demands of her. She radiates calm and warmth, even at times when there’s plenty to do. Her sense of responsibility towards this lovingly created project and the rotating Wwoofers, who can be grateful for the experiences they gain here, is wonderful! She and her sweet dog friend Bodi will always remain a special memory from my Wwoofing trip through Italy. A presto ❤️💜

My time WWOOFing with Juna was truly amazing, and I can't recommend it enough! Juna is quite simply an Earth angel :) She cares deeply about organic farming and has built a working environment that is safe, fair, and genuinely respectful of everyone who comes through the farm. Beyond her values, Juna is an incredibly talented entrepreneur, business owner, designer, and chef... I learned so much under her guidance, from the process of distilling lavender to supporting with vegetable gardening, foraging, and helping run farm events. There's plenty of variety in the work, and Juna is thoughtful about matching tasks and projects to each WWOOFer's strengths and interests, so you genuinely get to learn what you want to learn while also contributing meaningfully to the farm. The work is challenging but worth it! The environment Juna has created is joy-filled and supportive, which makes all the difference. I left feeling like I'd grown so much, both in skills and in spirit, and I'm already counting down until I can come back.

I had an inspiring stay at Juna's place (with beautiful Bodhi) learning about her intuitive farming practices and the lessons she shared about what she tried and tested with her lavender, garden and vegetables. Juna shared the oil she makes from the lavender which was a treat to smell so nice after work! The cooking was varied, generous and plenty, and the accommodation in the house with Juna and other wwoofers is very comfortable. It was Spring so a lot of time spent clearing the garden and fields of unwanted weeds so it could flourish. We were also invited to attend local community events, markets and food producers which really added to the experience. I am very grateful to Juna for sharing her place and bits of her life with me and fellow wwoofers :)
