hello everyone, my name is Carla, swiss of origin,and together with my husband, australian expat, and my father, also swiss, we run our little farmstay on a green hill in Asti.
I grew up in this house so for me this is an important piece of heart which we all care for by practicing sustainable agriculture and by welcoming farmstay guests to share this nest.
Our two family dogs Tonka and Luna love to always meet new people and feel like everyone belongs to the family right away.
we start most of our days in our vegetable gardens and we grow most of our vegetables from seed and use them for preserves, fresh cooking for our family and our guests and we also have bees which make this place very much a little ecosystem.
we don't use any chemicals as we like to enjoy a perfectly ripe fruit or vegetable as soon as we pick it.
we have planted new fruit trees 3 years ago and we are trying to get our old hazelnut shrubs back into production, after long years of abandonment.
As we like to always meet new people who are interested in organic farming and sharing perhaps new ideas and suggestions we think it would be great to share all this activities with wwoofers from all around the world.
our wwoofers will stay just beside the farmhouse in a newly renovated caravan from the seventies which we lovingly call "villa Gluck" from one of the songs from Adriano Celentano.
In the caravan you will find a comfy bed, a couch and a table and lots of green area to enjoy, you could even start your day with a jump into our lake...
in the warmer months we will install a solar shower outside but of course our wwofers will always have access to a full bathroom in the house.
we always cook for our family and when we have farmstay guests we prepare breakfasts and cook dinner for them, in many occasions, at dinner time we sit down at the same table with our guests and like to get to know them better.
of course our wwoofers will always be included in our meal plans as that is most natural for us to share.
If our wwoofers prefer a more quiet dinner to themselves we have plenty of other dining space available and a cozy living room for some "netflixing"
my hobbies are mainly related to our work, but when we have some spare time we enjoy it by cooking, farming, wine tasting, walking, meeting friends, exploring new areas of our region.
In the area close to our farmstay there are a lot of walking tracks and horse riding farm.
Just 15 min by car or 1 hour walk lies the town of Asti, where there are a lot of bars, shops, wine shops, a library, an acqua park, museums and of course a lot of different restaurants and pizzeria!

ciao a tutti, mi chiamo Carla, svizzera di origine, e insieme a mio marito, australiano espatriato, e a mio padre, anch'egli svizzero, gestiamo il nostro piccolo agriturismo su una verde collina astigiana.
Sono cresciuta in questa casa e per me è un pezzo di cuore importante di cui ci prendiamo cura praticando un'agricoltura sostenibile e accogliendo gli ospiti dell'agriturismo a condividere questo nido.
I nostri due cani di famiglia Tonka e Luna amano conoscere sempre nuove persone e sentirsi subito parte della famiglia.
iniziamo la maggior parte delle nostre giornate nei nostri orti e coltiviamo la maggior parte delle verdure da seme e le usiamo per le conserve, per la cucina fresca per la nostra famiglia e per i nostri ospiti e abbiamo anche delle api che rendono questo posto un piccolo ecosistema.
non usiamo prodotti chimici perché ci piace goderci un frutto o una verdura perfettamente maturi appena raccolti.
Abbiamo piantato nuovi alberi da frutto 3 anni fa e stiamo cercando di rimettere in produzione i nostri vecchi arbusti di nocciole, dopo lunghi anni di abbandono.
Poiché ci piace incontrare sempre nuove persone interessate all'agricoltura biologica e a condividere magari nuove idee e suggerimenti, pensiamo che sarebbe bello condividere tutte queste attività con i wwoofers di tutto il mondo.
i nostri wwoofers alloggeranno proprio accanto alla cascina in una roulotte degli anni Settanta appena ristrutturata che chiamiamo affettuosamente “villa Gluck” da una delle canzoni di Adriano Celentano.
Nella roulotte troverete un comodo letto, un divano e un tavolo e tanto spazio verde per divertirvi, potreste anche iniziare la giornata con un salto nel nostro lago...
nei mesi più caldi installeremo una doccia solare all'esterno, ma naturalmente i nostri wwofers avranno sempre accesso a un bagno completo in casa.
cuciniamo sempre per la nostra famiglia e quando abbiamo ospiti in agriturismo prepariamo la colazione e cuciniamo la cena per loro; in molte occasioni, a cena ci sediamo allo stesso tavolo con i nostri ospiti e ci piace conoscerli meglio.
Naturalmente i nostri wwoofer saranno sempre inclusi nei nostri pasti, perché per noi è la cosa più naturale da condividere.
Se i nostri wwoofers preferiscono una cena più tranquilla per loro stessi, abbiamo a disposizione molti altri spazi da pranzo e un accogliente salotto per un po' di “Netflix and chill”.
I miei hobby sono principalmente legati al nostro lavoro, ma quando abbiamo un po' di tempo libero ci divertiamo a cucinare, coltivare, degustare vini, passeggiare, incontrare amici, esplorare nuove zone della nostra regione.
Nella zona vicina al nostro agriturismo ci sono molti sentieri per passeggiate e maneggi.
A soli 15 minuti di auto o 1 ora di cammino si trova la città di Asti, dove ci sono molti bar, negozi, enoteche, una biblioteca, un parco acquatico, musei e, naturalmente, molti ristoranti e pizzerie!"

Hallo zusammen, mein Name ist Carla, Schweizerin, und zusammen mit meinem Mann, einem australischen Auswanderer, und meinem Vater, ebenfalls Schweizer, betreiben wir unseren kleinen Bauernhof auf einem grünen Hügel in Asti.
Ich bin in diesem Haus aufgewachsen, daher ist es für mich ein wichtiges Stück Herz, das wir alle pflegen, indem wir nachhaltige Landwirtschaft betreiben und Gäste auf dem Bauernhof willkommen heißen, um dieses Nest zu teilen.
Unsere beiden Familienhunde Tonka und Luna lieben es, immer wieder neue Menschen kennenzulernen und sehen sie sofort als Teil der Familie.
