Organic Vegetable farm using permaculture and regenerative agriculture principles
Asti
Hello, We are Rachel and Maria. Together we operate a small market garden using regenerative farming and agroforestry techniques and permaculture principals.
Our farm is located outside the village of Roccaverano (famous for Robiola goat cheese) in Southern Piedmont. We are in a beautiful semi-isolated position tucked away in nature .
Usual wwoofing activities include planting, harvesting, building new no-dig garden beds, setting up trellises, weeding, cutting the grass, preparing firewood, picking wild flowers, etc.
We are passionate about no dig gardening, regenerative agriculture and building up healthy, living soil.
We like cooking, going for walks and having a glass of wine by the fire in the evening.
We preserve a lot of the food we grow during the Summer for the rest of the year and we also make our own soaps and cosmetics. We are happy to share what we have learned with you!
We eat lunch and dinner together and breakfast is available to those who eat breakfast. Our food comes mainly from our farm and / or neighbooring farms.
Our house is a traditional stone farmhouse and there are comfortable rooms for Wwoofers.
We respect everyone that comes to our place and we ask that everyone respects our farm and all the people at the farm. We are positive people and we are happy to host other hard working, positive people with good energy. :)

I joined Maria and Rachel for one week. I had a realy good time with a lot of interesting work and shared time.
They often offered different jobs so i could choose between sevreal things that had to be done. Of course it was about gardening but also constructing and repairing things.
I enjoyed the simple life, the silence arround the house, good conversations and Rachels great meals after long working days.
Would definetly join them again.

Our stay with Rachel and Maria was far beyond our expectations. Their farm is a real magic, but a magic which is obviously the outcome of hard and loving work . It is so beautiful and abundant. Rachel and Maria were so very kind to share their knowledge and experience, and also patient to answer all our questions. We learned a lot both about working and handling a farm, and the theory behind it. We felt very welcomed and being part of the project, seeing the large picture while also participating in the daily tasks. We had such a pleasant time in the farm, and the real bonus, which we couldn't have even expected, was the amazing and generous meals that Rachel cooked for all of us. We will certainly come again!
