Muladhara is a holistic center set in a rural-urban context, promoting human, ethical, and social growth for all those who wish to learn how to take care of themselves and the planet. Our core themes include natural agriculture, conscious nutrition, natural medicine, personal growth, culture, languages, art, sports, and performing arts. Muladhara is a place that radiates hospitality and presence. We are an antispeciesist organization: if you join us, you will enjoy abundant, high-quality, zero-km, and plant-based meals. We have regenerated 2,900 square meters of outdoor space, featuring a synergistic vegetable garden, a young orchard (planted a year ago), medicinal herbs, a healing herb forest, Mediterranean maquis plants, ancient fruit trees, and social/relaxation areas. We organize activities focused on urban, social, and regenerative agriculture, teaching sustainability through daily actions such as the use and recycling of natural materials and fostering a deep connection with nature. We have restored a well, which serves as our primary source for waste-free irrigation. Daily life revolves around caring for the grounds, including areas dedicated to spontaneous and natural biodiversity. Seasonally, we process our produce for use in the kitchen and for health purposes (herbs, herbal teas, carobs, jams, etc.). We protect wild plants to support the ecosystem of insects and birds that share the garden with us. Alongside practical care, we use charts to guide irrigation, though we always encourage "feeling the soil" by hand first. You will be fully supported and guided in learning everything needed to live in harmony within a regenerative space like ours. Who we are looking for: We seek individuals genuinely interested in the process of change and regeneration. We are not a community or a meditation center. We host only people with some experience and a strong interest in the following tasks: Garden & Plant Management: vegetable garden, aromatic herbs, weeding, and irrigation. Handyman & Craft Skills: basic maintenance, working the land, or carpentry to create small social areas immersed in greenery using natural materials. Our Values & House Rules: Ours is a strictly vegan reality. We do not host omnivores (unless they are happy to embrace a 100% vegan experience) or smokers. It is strictly forbidden to bring any animal-derived food into the facility. We host simple, practical people who are not looking for a "holiday" but rather a shared stay based on WWOOFing principles. Accommodation: In addition to the bedrooms, a small kitchen is available. There are two bathrooms reserved exclusively for our guests. Next Steps: We prefer to schedule a video call before confirming any visit to discuss the details of your stay together. We welcome English speakers, but a basic knowledge of Italian is required. The Surroundings: If you wish to explore during your free time, we are located in the mountains, 25 km from the sea. The area is rich in sites to visit: Domus de Janas, Mount Arci with its Acqua Frida forest and Geo-mining Park, the Obsidian site, the Giara plateau, and various Nuraghi. Furthermore, we are 30 minutes away from the stunning Costa Verde beaches, 30 minutes from Oristano, and 50 minutes from Cagliari. Direct bus lines are available.

We stayed at this farm in summer 2025. Volunteers are officially expected to work at least 5 hours a day, but tasks often extended beyond that. We usually don’t mind longer days when the atmosphere is supportive, but here the host frequently implied we were “falling short,” even when we were not. The host was often absent during work hours, either on his phone nearby or away without comment, which left volunteers handling difficult and sometimes unsafe tasks without guidance. When present, he gave instructions but rarely assisted. Cooking is part of the volunteer duties, yet not counted toward the daily hours. Food access was restricted: even for basics we had to ask repeatedly, and sometimes requests were declined, despite the main kitchen being stocked. Volunteers are not allowed in that space, which made meal preparation stressful. We value clear communication and are used to adapting on farms, but here communication was mostly one-sided. Volunteers were expected to listen but not heard in return. The imbalance between high expectations and low support made the stay uncomfortable, so we chose to leave earlier than planned. Future WWOOFers may want to be aware of these conditions before deciding.

The host's expectations were greatly disappointed. He expected people who respected the WWOOffer principles, but instead, the guests apparently were incapable of respecting simple rules of civil coexistence with other people. Collaboration was not felt at all, perhaps because the guests preferred to remain on the sidelines even when the host was present, such as during meals, a time for sharing. Whoever decides to take them in should know this.
